Alex C. Willingham - President

Alex C. Willingham is a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), in which he is board certified. He has served as the president and co-founder of Rehabilitation Professional Consultants, Inc. since the company's inception in 1998. Dr. Willingham began his medical practice medicine in 1983, and he has continued to practice medicine since that time and in the speciality area of PM&R since 1986. He served as the medical director of Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital in San Antonio, Texas from 1988 to 2017. Dr. Willingham has also served as the medical director of NeuroRestorative TM (formally Mentis Neuro Rehabilitation) in San Antonio, Texas since 2012. In addition to the San Antonio program, in 2017, Dr. Willingham assumed the clinical responsibilities as medical director of the NeuroRestorative TM program in Dripping Springs, Texas. He is also president of South Texas PM&R Group in San Antonio. Dr. Willingham served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio from 1988 until 2017. He also served as a program surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) from 1990 until 2014 through which he surveyed rehabilitation hospitals and facilities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He previously served for eight years as a member of the Rehabilitation Section Committee of the Texas Medical Association, with the latter two years serving as Chairman. Dr. Willingham has authored and coauthored articles and scientific papers concerning a variety of physical medicine and rehabilitation topics and life care planning. He is a frequent guest speaker and presenter for numerous health care educational symposiums for medical professionals and support groups for survivors of brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputations. Dr. Willingham is often featured in San Antonio radio programs such as "Ask the Doctor." He has also been featured on CNN, ESPN, CBS and other national & local television networks.

Dan M. Bagwell - CEO

Dan Bagwell is CEO of Rehabilitation Professional Consultants, Inc. and president of Dan Bagwell & Associates, both of which are located in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Bagwell is a registered nurse, licensed in the state of Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1978 from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing. He is a certified life care planner, certified case manager, and certified disability management specialist. Mr. Bagwell provides adult and pediatric catastrophic case management and life care planning services for individuals in Texas and many other states throughout the United States. His clinical nursing experience spans more than four decades with the majority of his professional services dedicated to medical case management, professional consultation in health care, and life care planning services involving litigated and non-litigated matters. His clinical experience has included critical care nursing and service as an officer in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps and medical crew director in Tactical Aeromedical Evacuation with the USAF Reserves. Mr. Bagwell previously served as president and co-founder of Life Care Personal Living Centers and co-founder and vice president of MediSys Rehabilitation, Inc. He has given numerous presentations, lectures and symposiums concerning life care planning at regional, national and international conferences, and he has authored peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters in life care planning. Mr. Bagwell has served as courtesy faculty for advanced life care planning seminars sponsored by the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, the International Academy of Life Care Planners, and the Foundation for Life Care Planning Research in conjunction with the International Symposium on Life Care Planning, as well as life care planning curriculum development with Kaplan University. He has chaired the Sponsorship Committee and served on the Education Committee for the International Symposium on Life Care Planning and as a faculty member for the 2002 Life Care Planning Summit Conference.

David Altman

Dr. Altman completed his undergraduate training at Brandeis University. He attended medical school at the University of Connecticut, followed by an internship at Hartford Hospital and neurology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Brown University before becoming a partner at the Neurology Center of San Antonio, as well as the Neurology Director of Access Quality Therapy Services. Dr. Altman has served as the Neurology Director of Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital and subsequently as the Regional Neurology Advisor for the Warm Springs Healthcare System. He also served as the Medical Director of Global Rehabilitation Hospital in San Antonio. He is currently a neurohospitalist for the Methodist Healthcare System where he provides neurology consultation services for diagnosis, emergency management and follow-up inpatient care of patients who have suffered stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, peripheral nerve injury, and other neurologic injuries or diseases in all departments at this Level I Trauma Center and Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center, as well as other hospitals within this system of care throughout South Texas. Dr. Altman has taken an active role in developing and building the stroke program for the Methodist Healthcare System. In addition to his clinical neurology practice, Dr. Altman is a certified life care planner and has provided life care planning and other professional and expert services since 2008 as a consultant with Rehabilitation Professional Consultants, Inc., in San Antonio, Texas.
