Science Communication Network (SCN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting environmental health scientists in their efforts to contribute to public dialogue about their work through the media. We provide media training specific to communicating environmental health research, and we reach out to science, health and other interested journalists to inform them regarding important new science... Since 2002, SCN has kept environmental health science front-and-center for journalists and through them, for the public and decision-makers. We work to increase the amount and depth of media coverage of important research, and thereby increase awareness of environmental and public health issues that affect people's daily lives... SCN never gets its own name in the press; we serve only to facilitate the process of communication between scientists and reporters in order to improve the odds that science will be reported accurately.
