Founded in 1957 as a colony with the chapter name Epsilon Delta, the Texas Tech University chapter of Delta Tau Delta has initiated over 2000 men including former Texas Tech University Chancellor, Kent Hance, and former CEO of AT&T and General Motors, Ed Whitacre. Today, the Delts have 140 active undergraduate members, making us one of the largest men's fraternities on the Texas Tech campus, as well as one of the largest chapters in the Delta Tau Delta national system. As Delts, we aspire to live lives of excellence - our national motto promoting leadership and citizenship... Committed to living lives of excellence, we take academics seriously. By recruiting scholarly men and providing an environment conducive to academic growth, we have been ranked second academically out of nineteen Greek fraternities at Texas Tech. Many of our members have a perfect 4.0 GPA, and even more have a 3.5 GPA and above... Since 1957, Epsilon Delta has consistently ranked as one of the most distinct..
