UGSOA stands for the United Government Security Officers of America. UGSOA was founded in 1992 and is currently located in East Wareham, Massachusetts. We are one of the fastest growing Security Unions in the country and we represent Security Officers / Guards / Detention Officers / Police working at various facilities all across the nation... The UGSOA International Union was founded by a man named James Vissar who resided in Colorado and worked as a Security Officer at the United States Nuclear Weapons Production Facility better known as "Rocky Flats" where he served as the Local 1 President for many years. He was known as a stubborn, true to life unionist that was commonly described as the kind of guy who would, "Give you the shirt off his back". Over time, he became increasingly unhappy and frustrated with the level of representation that he was receiving from the International Union that he was affiliated with and began to explore the possibility of finding a new International...
