CASCADE EYE CENTER - Key Persons

Dr. Tom Gilmore

Dr. Tom Gilmore established our practice in 1968, initially locating in downtown Yakima. In 1978 he opened Valley Optometry at Valley Eye Centre and Focal Point Optical, adjacent to the Medical Center at 14th and Yakima Avenues. Dr. Donald Shute joined him there in 1985 and in 1992 the doctors built and relocated to Cascade Eye Center, a much larger facility along the 40th Avenue "medical corridor". Dr. Michael Noble joined them there in 1993 after practicing elsewhere in Yakima for 10 years, and in 2008 Dr. Babin joined the clinic after practicing at the Group Health Vision Center in Yakima for 11 years. With Dr. Noble and Dr. Shute gearing towards retirement, Dr. Kaleb Dieker returned back to his hometown and joined the practice in 2015, right after finishing his optometry school training. In 2018, Dr. Aaron Anderson joined the practice after 17 years of practicing at various locations in Tennessee, Oregon, Montana, and New Mexico. In May of 2017, we celebrated 25 years at our current Yakima location, and we look forward to many more years serving the visual needs of the Yakima Valley!

Gas-Permeable (GP) Lenses

Made of moderately flexible plastics, GP lenses offer sharp vision and correct most vision problems. They are more durable than soft contact lenses and can be easier to handle and care for but require a longer adaptation period and consistent wear to maintain adaptation.
