WESTWARD FINANCIAL STRATEGIES - Key Persons
Alexa, under the mentorship of Karen Boykin and affiliation with Woodbury Financial Strategies, works on gaining knowledge on how to help future individuals, families, and businesses with their financial goals.
Alexa completed a high school internship with Westward FS in May 2002 and will continue with the firm to assist on special projects while she attends William Woods University in pursuit of a degree in Accounting Finance, with a minor in Business Administration. As she continues to learn, she is excited to help people prepare their finances for the future by using strategy and understanding. Alexa hopes to have a deep relationship with everyone she works with to create a strong understanding of their goals as she works with the next generation of Westward's clients.
Alexa enjoys spending time with friends and family, painting, country music, and being outside. She loves working on a team and participates in basketball and soccer. She will be managing the Track and Field team during her time at William Woods. Alexa is extremely grateful to continue learning alongside Karen and Leslie.
Karen, through her affiliation with Woodbury Financial Services, Inc., works with a select group of individuals, families, and businesses with their investment needs and is passionate about helping clients navigate through various life stages. She specializes in estate, tax strategies, and retirement planning. Karen strongly believes in going beyond financial planning and focusing more on financial strategies. Her wealth management approach combines wisdom, insight and a deep understanding, not just for her client's goals and objectives, but of their lives, family, interests, and passions. This approach allows Karen to have much deeper and stronger relationships with her clients and help them achieve their life goals.
Away from the office, Karen enjoys traveling, reading, yoga and volunteering with local animal rescue organizations. Karen resides in Wildwood, MO with her rescue cat, Sofia. Her grown step children, nephews, niece, and grandchild live in her native state of Texas and she visits them often.
Leslie Greenman loves working with her clients through her affiliation with Woodbury Financial Services, Inc. She is passionate about helping people be prepared for the unexpected whether it is death, disease, or divorce. Nothing in life is guaranteed. Leslie understands because her husband passed on unexpectedly at 35 when her kids were two and four years old. With over twelve years of experience, Leslie helps clients navigate the market volatility and stay focused on their long-term goals. She works hard to make sure her clients are prepared with their tax strategies and retirement and estate planning needs. Leslie loves listening to her client's goals and creating a specific strategy that will work for them. Her clients know that she will speak openly and honestly with them. Leslie takes the time to create an in-depth retirement plan to help each client pursue their goals and holds them accountable. She would prefer to have fewer clients but have strong, deeper relationships with each of them. Leslie's clients know they can reach her, and she will be there to help them in the calm and bumpy moments of life. Leslie help individuals going through a divorce analyze their choices and options to try to find an equitable and fair financial solution.
Out of the office, Leslie enjoys pushing herself mentally and physically. She ran her first marathon last year in New York while raising money for Solace House, a suicide prevention center. This year she is running a new race each month in a new location. She will be running a 50k in Paradise, MI in Summer 2022. In the Summer of 2021, she completed Everesting 29029 where she summited the equivalent of Everest in less than 36 hours in Utah. Leslie loves running each day with her two dogs, Lulu and Bear. Leslie's two boys have now grown up. One is a Senior at Florida Southern College, and the other is entering his Junior year at Miami University in Ohio. Last month the three of them competed together in a "Driveway to Hell" event so they can push each other to new levels. Leslie is remarried and lives in St. Louis, Missouri.
