WARRAGUL & DISTRICT SPECIALIST SCHOOL

Warragul & District Specialist School is located in West Gippsland in a purpose-built facility adjacent to Warragul Regional College. The school caters for students aged from 5-18 with mild to profound intellectual disabilities. Students travel to the school from throughout the shire of Baw Baw. The school enrols approximately 100 students. Warragul and District Specialist School offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with skills in preparation for life beyond school. The social, physical and academic development of the student is paramount. Individual education plans are developed in consultation with parents, teachers, allied health staff and teacher assistants, recognising individual differences and rates of learning. Warragul and District Specialist School has a strong allied health team consisting of, two occupational therapists, two speech pathologists, a mental health practitioner, school nurse and therapy support staff.
