WAHG - Key Persons
I graduated from Onderstepoort in 2022, before that I obtained my BSc (Agriculture) degree in Stellenbosch. I did my compulsory community service year in Manyatseng Animal Clinic which is located in Ladybrand, Eastern - Free State. I attended to various species, including small animals, birds, horses, and livestock.
Dr Chilton graduated in 2012 from University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort. He first worked at a country practice in Kokstad, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Thereafter a small practice in Amanzimtoti, also in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Dr. van Tonder graduated in 1986 at University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort Veterinary Faculty.
Dr. Compion graduated in 1999 at the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort Veterinary Faculty.
After completing his studies, he worked at a Veterinary practice in Kent, Manchester, London until 2006 where he started and managed the Panorama after hours Veterinary Clinic from 2006 - 2009.
Dr. Compion joined WAHG in February 2011 and has special interests in surgery, reptile husbandry and care.
Dr. Egbert Compion has a particular interest in the more exotic species including birds, small mammals, spiders, reptiles and fish. He has been involved with and interested in their capture, husbandry and breeding over the past thirty years.
Dr. Schabort graduated in 2009 at University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort Veterinary Faculty.
Dr Lindi Smit graduated from the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort, in 2020. She completed her Compulsory community service year at the Winelands SPCA in Ashton in 2021 whereafter she joined the WAHG team in March 2022 as small animal veterinarian.
Dr Stroebel graduated in 2021 from the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort and completed her CCS year in Tarkastad in the Eastern Cape. After that she moved to Pretoria and worked at Monument Park Vet Clinic until joining the WAHG team in April 2024.
Dr. van Zyl graduated in 1991 at the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort.
Dr. van Zyl loves endurance horse riding and got his national colours twice. He also represented the National Endurance team as National Team Vet.
Dr. Snyman graduated in 2018 from the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort, completed her CCS year at Cradock State Vet Clinic in 2019 and then joined the WAHG team in January 2020.
