Ben Heath

Since graduating from Curtin University, Ben has worked in busy private practices from Safety Bay to Claremont where he has built up a wealth of clinical experience. He has undertaken additional study in dry needling for the release of both muscular trigger points and ligamentous/capsular structures. He has also trained in osteopathic manipulation techniques to restore mobility to the spine, ribs, pelvis and peripheral joints (elbow, knee, ankle, wrist and foot). Ben completed his clinical pilates training with DMA (Dance Medicine Australia) at the highest level and is a certified pilates practitioner. He uses this cutting edge approach to aid in assessment and exercise selection for patients ranging from elite athletes looking to boost performance to the elderly and those suffering from chronic pain. Ben is an active member of the Musculoskeletal Physio, Sports Physio and Dry Needling special interest groups of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Niamh Rafter

Niamh joins the Activate Team part time, having spent the past few years in Sydney before moving to Perth. She is originally from Ireland where she studied her Bachelor's degree, and brings a broad range of skills from working in a variety of settings. Niamh's ethos is to treat the individual and problem solve to find both short and long term solutions. She has a holistic approach to any injury and condition, and uses both strength/conditioning and clinical pilates as tools for rehabilitation. She is qualified as a Pilates Instructor and also in Dry Needling and Medical Acupuncture. She enjoys a varied caseload, having worked largely with adults and elderly in her career. Her interest in physiotherapy stems from personal experience with injuries, from her younger years as an international competitive gymnast and recreational coach. She brings her past experience into practice and has keen interest in chronic injury, hypermobility and dance/performance physiotherapy. Niamh sees exercise as a lifelong tool, be it for recovery, maintenance or optimal performance. She works as part of a neurosurgical team in her other job role, enjoying helping people to recover after major spinal surgeries. Tom Harari

Tom joined the Activate team in 2020 after completing the Masters in Physiotherapy (Sports Major) at Curtin uni. Tom previously worked as a physiotherapist in Israel and is highly experienced in treating a wide variety of conditions from sports injuries to chronic pain issues. As the Physiotherapist and head Strength & Conditioning trainer for a major basketball club in Israel, Tom included both on and off the court rehabilitation and training. Having played semi-professional basketball in Israel, Tom has a keen interest in team sports injuries (including knee, ankle, shoulder, lower back, and more). Tom keeps himself informed with the most up to date scientific evidence in order to be able to deliver physiotherapy care of the highest value to his clients. With a special interest in motor learning and movement strategies, Tom is happy to help people discover what their body is able to do and to enable pain free, high-quality movement and function without limitations.
