With generous support from USAID Southern Africa, the Highly Vulnerable Children Research Center was created by Dr Tonya Renee Thurman with the central goal of compiling a rigorous evidence base for HVC program and policy decision making. Monitoring and evaluation support, technical assistance and capacity building are central to our work, as we seek to support the abilities of governments, communities and families to provide evidence-informed, quality care for HVC... The HVC-RC engages in research to evaluate and inform interventions serving HVC. We aim to produce solid evidence to support decision-making through the application of rigorous study designs with resulting recommendations for policy and programming.
