Ann-Marie has over twenty years audit and accountancy experience in various industries. Before joining the practice in 2006, Ann Marie worked in a number of similar sized practices in Dublin and Tipperary, where she gained extensive experience in the food and catering industries.
Ann-Marie deals with client's day to day queries and manages any compliance deadlines that have to be met. Her specific area of expertise is solicitor regulations. Ann-Marie has a BBS accounting degree from Waterford Institute of Technology and is a qualified chartered certified accountant.

Claire joined the practice in 2008 from Grant Thornton, where she qualified as a tax consultant. Claire advises on a broad range of taxation issues and has tax technical knowledge covering all tax heads.
She specialises in personal taxes, in particular, income tax, capital gains and capital acquisitions concentrating on a client centered focus which maximises tax credits, tax opportunities, exemptions and reliefs. She is also involved in estate planning, succession planning, and advising on residence and double taxation issues. She regularly provides tailored tax advice to meet the specific circumstances and requirements of her clients as they arise.
Claire has significant experience liaising with both the revenue commissioners and law offices to achieve the best possible results for her clients, often in the context of a revenue audit or voluntary disclosure.
In addition to her tax qualification, Claire holds a Law Degree and a Masters of Law Degree from U.C.C. and a Masters of Applied Arts from W.I.T.
Fiona has over twenty years' experience in solving accountancy, audit and taxation problems, specifically in manufacturing, retail, medical, nursing homes, hotel, international and food manufacturing companies and industries.
With over seven year's agency experience, she has brought the high standards and knowledge to SME companies including structuring of companies, preparing business plans and projections for investment growth and survival. Consequently, for the SME sector she can assist from start up to wind down. She has an in-depth knowledge in IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 101 and FRS 105. She has also advised foreign companies coming to Ireland including whether a company or branch structure would best suit their needs.
Fiona joined the practice from KPMG Dublin, where as an Audit Manager, she specialised in energy, property and food industries providing tailored and practical accounting solutions and with over seven years' agency experience, Fiona has worked with a number of quoted companies and semi state bodies in preparing their first annual report under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS's) and evaluating the appropriateness of their property and energy assets from an audit perspective.
A law and accounting graduate from the University of Limerick, she qualified as a chartered accountant in 2004, a tax consultant in 2006 and completed the chartered tax course in 2010. She is also a fellow member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute.
Gerard Sheehan, joined the practice in 2016 and brings over thirty years of accounting, audit, financial advice and taxation experience to the firm.
In addition to providing high level accounting, taxation and financial advice service to SME clients for over 30 years, Gerard is an expert in construction and property management industries, in addition he has extensive experience in the day to day issues in the licensed and hospitality trade. He works with clients building a business model, he assists with the maintenance of that business model and assists in identifying considerable areas for growth.
Since joining the firm in 2016, Gerard has been instrumental in the setting up of our outsourced management information function, to help our clients manage their affairs in an efficient manner.
Apart from SME's, Gerard has extensive experience in the taxation of high net worth individuals and provides advice on the sheltering of income.
Gerard completed his training with Myles C Ronan & Associates in Cork City in the early 1980's and became partner in 1985. Gerard set up his own practice Gerard Sheehan & Associates in 2010 and joined James Byrne & Company in 2016. He is a fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and is authorised to practice as a Personal Insolvency Practitioner (PIP).
Jackie has over twenty years audit and accountancy experience in various industries, specialising in SME companies. She has both practice and industry experience and uses her knowledge to assist SME clients to meet their accounting, taxation and company law obligations. Jackie has significant experience in dealing with large company audits.
Jackie deals with client's day to day queries and manages any compliance deadlines that have to be met. Jackie graduated with an Honours Degree in Accounting from Cork Institute of Technology before joining James Byrne & Company. She completed her chartered exams with the firm and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Maria joined the practice in 2020 having worked for a number of years in a large financial institution. She has a strong background in Administration, Compliance and Human Resources, having previously held a senior HR role. Maria manages the Company's administrative function of the practice and holds a qualification in both Human Resources and Compliance
Marie joined the company in 1998 from IFAC accountants, where she qualified as a chartered, certified accountant in 1995. Her primary areas of focus include finalising sole trader accounts, review of returns and dealing with the day to day client queries.
Marie has over twenty years' experience in the farming, constructing and medical industries.
She has particular interest in farming clients, including the incorporation of farming companies and setting up farming partnerships. Marie has written various articles for newspapers specifically relating to the accountancy and tax implications for farmers.
Due to the nature of these companies she has been involved in all stages of the company's life cycle from raising finance to winding down the company's activities.
Her experience includes liaising with shareholders, preparing clients for revenue audits, managing the day to day booking keeping for clients, preparation and submission of income tax, corporation tax and capital gain tax returns.

Niamh's experience as a financial accountant is spread across a variety of sectors including the construction, international companies, hospitality, private healthcare, engineering & consultancy.
During her time with the firm, she has also obtained significant experience in an Auditing and leads many of our large audits across the above sectors. These range from Irish registered companies and groups to international groups.
Niamh graduated with an Honours Degree in Accounting from Cork Institute of Technology in 2012 before joining James Byrne & Company in June of the same year. She completed her professional examinations with The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2018.
Stephen's experience as a financial accountant is spread across all our sectors including construction, healthcare, nursing homes, human resources and science industries.
During his time with the firm, he has also obtained significant experience auditing large group companies and foreign branches. He has also been involved in implementing a new online accounting and outsourced management accounting function to new and existing clients, the service includes identifying key performance indicators and consequently growing their business
Stephen graduated with an Honours Degree in Accounting from Cork Institute of Technology in 2010, he trained with James Byrne & Company and qualified as a Certified Public Accountants (CPA) in 2014. He completed his professional examinations with the Institute of Banking in Ireland during 2017 and holds the QFA (Qualified Financial Advisor) & APA (Accredited Product Advisor) designations.
