Simon Ng is the founder of Leacov, the only approved training organisation accredited to let security personnel learn the full spectrum of relevant industry training. His achievements include being the first in many areas for security training: Mr Simon Ng founded security training and consultancy company Leacov Singapore Pte Ltd in 2011. Since then, through vision and hard work, he has nurtured Leacov into a group of companies with an international reach, offering a full spectrum of security support services and solutions. Mr Ng began his career in the Singapore Police Force, where he served as a personal bodyguard for the late Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew for 8 years. He then served as the chairman of Police Security Command's Training Committee, in charge of training all police bodyguards, as well as developing and implementing new training programmes and methods. Mr Ng then served as the Assistant Operations Officer to the Head of Operations, responsible for VVIP routes and security assessments for major national events. Today, Mr Ng remains the NS Officer-in-charge of Training for an entire police division. After leaving the force, Mr Ng provided Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (TVRA) consultancy services for a wide variety of high-security clients worldwide, including Interpol, multiple embassies, oil refineries, as well as international schools and convention centres. Mr Ng gained a familiarity with the private security industry, as well as strong insights into macro HR planning and the impact of training on industry manpower, as a senior manager in charge of private security industry policy in the Workforce Development Agency, a statutory board of the Ministry of Manpower. There, as part of the Industry Skills and Training Council for the security industry, he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the first national regulatory and training standards for private security. Desiring to take a more active role in helping to solve the various challenges faced by the private security industry, and with a personal dedication in lifelong learning, Mr Ng then founded Leacov to serve the industry. Since then, Leacov has won the trust and preference of the Singapore security industry, and garnered numerous prestigious national and industry awards in recognition of its leading role in training, personnel development, and innovation-such as the national Enterprise 50 Award, the Security Industry Transformation Award, the Singapore Prestige Brand Award, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, as well as the IAL InnovPlus Flame Award.
