Ingrid Klausen

Ingrid is known for her encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Risk and Assurance. Most recently the Risk & Assurance Manager at Oxfam Australia, Ingrid has developed risk registers, event risk management plans, internal audit programs (for Australian and overseas entities), managed insurance portfolios, written and reviewed policies and procedures, and ensured compliance with various regulatory frameworks including PCI DSS, DFAT and ACFID. Before working for Oxfam, Ingrid was a Compliance and Assurance Manager at Mission Australia. Ingrid's personal philosophy is one of knowledge sharing, and she is keen to assist others to manage risks appropriately and efficiently. Ingrid has a particular interest in fraud risk mitigation and user friendly fraud response procedures. Part of Ingrid's genius is embedding a risk management culture into the day to day operations of an organisation. Ingrid is currently completing a double Masters in Business Administration and Law at Deakin University. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Australia, the Risk Management Institute of Australia and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Jeff Walsh

A lifelong career in Information Technology has equipped Jeff to be able to offer Social Business Consulting clients sound advice when it comes to implementing computer systems and services. After starting his IT career in sales and multimedia consulting, Jeff spent over 16 years working for a global IT outsourcing firm, building and managing IT systems for small and large clients in Australia, Asia and Europe. Jeff is renowned for translating complex technical jargon into easily understood and, more importantly, easy to follow computer user guides and engaging training sessions. Jeff practices his instructional technique every weekend in winter when he is occupied with his other passion: teaching people to ski!

Michelle Pearce - Founder

Michelle is the founder of Social Business Consulting. Michelle is passionate about working with people in organisations to share her knowledge of finance, governance, strategy and risk management to assist others do better in their businesses. Michelle has built up a reputation in the international development sector as the go to person for finance advice. Michelle has complemented her audit background from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu with senior finance roles at Oxfam Australia (Chief Financial Officer), Marie Stopes International (Australian Operations Finance Director) and Australian Red Cross (International Operations Commercial Manager). Michelle combines her strong technical knowledge with a sound understanding of business fundamentals and a passion for making systems work for people. Successful moments for Michelle come when she can communicate messages about finance to people in a way that makes sense to them and helps with their work. Michelle is known for establishing best practice finance, risk management and governance systems in organisations. She loves working with people and demonstrates this with her expertise in building high performing teams and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Michelle was the elected sector representative on the Australian Council For International Development (ACFID) Code of Conduct Committee for six years and during this time was instrumental in revising the financial reporting standards for the international development sector. Michelle is currently the appointed accounting specialist on the ACFID Code of Conduct Committee. Michelle has extensive experience working within the DFAT accreditation framework, with specialist knowledge in the financial systems and risk management sections. Michelle has set up Social Business Consulting and does all of the day to day administration, financial management, marketing, planning, and more, which gives her a good perspective when it comes to assisting our Small Business clients. Michelle is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, has completed Human Resources studies with the Australian Human Resources Institute and is currently undertaking her MBA at Deakin University. Michelle has a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and is a member of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Michelle is the honorary Treasurer of The Lab Project and is excited about supporting the community in this way. The Lab Project is a growing network of technology clubs for 10 to 16 year old young people diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome or High Functioning Autism who enjoy working with computers.

Veronica Hopkins

Veronica is our Human Resources specialist at Social Business Consulting. She brings with her a depth of experience in organisational communications, developing policies and procedures and organisational reporting. Veronica has worked in the not for profit sector for over 12 years, most notably for Oxfam International, Oxfam Australia, Oxfam America and Australian Red Cross; and has also had a stint in the government sector. These roles have given her a strong background in change management interventions and organisational development strategy. Beginning her career in the film and television industry, Veronica was able to refine her formidable organisation skills and project management approaches, developing her key competencies in change and flexibility.
