Jonathan Kinlay, the founder of Systematic Strategies, was the Head of Research and Trading at the firm until the end of 2017, when he retired. Dr Kinlay was formerly the General Partner of the Caissa Capital hedge fund, which managed over $400M in derivative assets using volatility arbitrage algorithms developed by Dr. Kinlay's research firm, Investment Analytics.
Paul Kim is a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for management of the firm's equity strategies. Paul was previously an equity portfolio manager at Grey Hill Capital, where he researched and developed low and high frequency strategies for the firm's quantitative equity portfolio. Paul holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Val Topayak is responsible for managing the volatility portfolio for the systematic volatility strategy. After graduating with a PhD in theoretical physics from Moscow State University, Val worked for Teleon Capital as a quantitative researcher and subsequently as a portfolio manager where he specialized in volatility arbitrage.
