Diana Wheeler

Ms. Wheeler advises us on the sustainability of our timber harvesting and ensuring the transportation efficiencies necessary for profitability in a commodities scale business. She brings 13 years of experience in project management as well as logistics management for shipping and manufacturing supply chains for a Fortune 50 company. She has a BA from Dartmouth College and a Master's degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, with a concentration in renewable energy resources.

Dr. Jim Ansley

Dr. Ansley is one of our nation's foremost experts in mesquite and juniper removal and mitigation, and rangeland restoration. He has published over 75 relevant articles, delivered over 160 presentations and abstracts, and received over 6 dozen grants to study, among other things, the removal of mesquite and juniper, the distribution of these trees and their potential for biomass energy and the restoration and management of rangeland.

Gary Ogle

Mr. Ogle is the owner of Ogle Engineering and Construction, LLC, an engineering company focused on providing economical efficiency, tight budget management and superior customer service. He has 30 years experience in the wood pellet, meat, and poultry industries designing processes to increase productivity with special emphasis on lowering labor and utility costs. Mr. Ogle has contributed to the design and project management of 14 wood pellet mills across the country that turn out a combined 1.2 million tons per year. He is partial owner of four of these mills. Mr. Ogle is experienced in all aspects of design, project management, processing layout, structural, electrical and mechanical engineering, and fire protection.

Jack Lauterbach

Mr. Lauterbach is responsible for AED's day to day operations, timber acquisition, personnel management, and the development of AED's harvesting and manufacturing facilities. Mr. Lauterbach served in the Marine Corps, ending his service with an honorable discharge as Gunnery Sergeant. He has been a sales manager for many companies, and General Manager of a steel joist plant, President of Texas Decks, Inc., Vice President of Sales of Roll Form Products, and President of Omega Metals Inc. He helped start up Tex-Ark Joist Company, going from no sales to over $25 million. As President of Omega Metals, Inc, Mr. Lauterbach was responsible for over $30 million in sales. While at Roll Form Products, he was responsible for over $70 million in sales. Since 2006, Mr. Lauterbach has been Chief Operations Director and President of Mesquite Fuels & Agriculture, and from June 2011 has also been a board member.

Kristin Merrigan

Kristin Merrigan is a finance and marketing professional with extensive experience working with clients to analyze markets, develop new products, deepen market penetration and enter new markets. Kristin has worked with companies from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies, located across North America and on four other continents. Currently, Kristin uses rigorous financial modeling and insightful market analysis to guide clients to profitable growth. She has been involved in all aspects of marketing and product development from initial market assessment through sales force deployment and acquisition analyses and strategies. Kristin earned an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago with concentrations in Finance and Marketing. She has a BA from Rice University.

Lee Jones

Mr. Jones is the Director of Advanced Product Development for venture-backed start-up Nuventix Inc., and a veteran of numerous start-ups in the Austin area. In addition, he works with seed stage companies to help them advance their technology and personnel growth to prepare for venture financing. He has been active with the Clean Energy Incubator at the Austin Technology Incubator (sitting on two success boards), and is committed to creating jobs in Austin in clean energy that are challenging and hi-tech. He received a BSME from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MSME from The University of Texas at Austin.

Phil Weaver

Mr. Weaver retired from Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) and is now, when not serving as President of Midlothian Economic Development Corporation, happily travelling around the world. When he retired, Mr. Weaver was the Vice President of the Agricultural Commodities division of BNSF. Before that, he was the Foreign Student Advisor at North Carolina State University and Grain Merchandiser for Continental Grain Company. He is an expert in issues regarding the shipping and trans-loading of commodity scale agricultural products.

Randall Terrell

  • Chief Executive Officer / Director of AED Management, Inc.
Mr. Terrell is responsible for overall management of the various AED projects, contracts and financial arrangements. Mr. Terrell is a local landowner, a small business owner, and an entrepreneur. Mr. Terrell is a native of Stephenville, Texas. He holds degrees from Rice University and the University of Houston Law Center. Mr. Terrell served as briefing attorney for the Honorable David O. Belew, Jr. in the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas. He worked for the Texas Air Control Board as a staff attorney, and in the Office of Policy and Regulatory Development in the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission. For 15 years, Mr. Terrell had an extensive private practice, and acted as managing partner in his law firm. He specialized in administrative law, environmental regulation, open meetings/records issues, energy law and corporate litigation. Most recently, Mr. Terrell was the Political Director for Equality Texas, a statewide advocacy group. Throughout his career, Mr. Terrell built a reputation as a visionary and strategic planner. With AED, he seeks to build a responsible, sustainable and profitable company at the intersection of government policy, economic opportunity, community growth and environmental stewardship.
