Dr. Tiare Feuchtner was appointed Assistant Professor (Juniorprofessorin) of Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Konstanz in 2021. Prior to this she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Virtual and Augmented Reality group of the Technical University of Vienna, as well as at the Ubiquitous Computing and Interaction group at the Department of Computer Science of Aarhus University where she acted as research coordinator for the MADE Fast project. In 2018, she earned her PhD in Computer Science from Aarhus University with her thesis on "Designing for Hand Ownership in Interaction with Virtual and Augmented Reality". During her PhD studies, she spent several months at Mel Slater's Event Lab in Barcelona to collaborate with experts on body ownership illusions.
Tiare Feuchtner acquired her interest in human-computer interaction (HCI) during her master's at the Berlin Institute of Technology, where she studied Computer Science and worked as a junior researcher at the Telekom Innovation Laboratories. She was also part of the game-dev startup Zeppelin Studio and won the Microsoft Imagine Cup games competition of 2013 with their puzzle-platformer "Schein". Before this, she completed a bachelor's in media informatics at the Technical University of Vienna and was junior researcher at the Austrian Institute of Technology.
