Adam Pulver

Adam Pulver litigates a range of cases involving administrative law, consumer rights, civil rights, labor and employment law, and constitutional law. He also regularly conducts trainings and provides guidance to other lawyers working on these issues. Adam Pulver is an attorney at Public Citizen Litigation Group, where he specializes in administrative law and appellate and Supreme Court litigation on behalf of consumers, workers, and civil rights plaintiffs. Prior to joining the Litigation Group in 2017, Adam worked in a variety of public interest positions. Most recently, he was a Senior Attorney at the Office of the Solicitor of Labor at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), where he worked on policy, trial and appellate litigation, and regulations relating to discrimination, labor union governance, and labor-management relations. As part of his work at DOL, he was the lead attorney on issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity. Prior to joining DOL, he spent several years as an associate at Emery Celli Brinckerhoff & Abady LLP in New York, where he litigated civil rights, employment, housing, consumer, and commercial cases in state and federal courts at all levels. He also worked at the ACLU of the Nation's Capital (now the ACLU of DC) as a volunteer attorney. Following law school, Adam served as a law clerk to the Honorable Christina A. Snyder, Honorable Stephen G. Larson, and Honorable Virginia A. Phillips, all of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Adam has authored a number of publications relating to labor and workplace issues, disability rights, and sexuality and gender law, and is a frequent speaker on these topics. In 2015, he was named one of the nation's Best LGBT Attorneys Under 40 by the National LGBT Bar Association. Adam is a past president of the LGBT Bar Association of the District of Columbia and is an active member of the community. He graduated from Columbia Law School in 2008, where he was a James Kent Scholar and Dean's Public Interest Law Scholar, and received the Allan Morrow Prize for Sexuality and Gender Law. He served as Executive Editor of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems, and was a member of the Sexuality and Gender Law Clinic and City Bar Legal Clinic for the Homeless. During law school, he worked at the ACLU's LGBT Rights Project, New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, and Altshuler Berzon LLP, as well as an intern for the Hon. Gerard E. Lynch, then of the Southern District of New York. Adam earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Tufts University. Before returning to the work force, Aileen was a stay at home mom, raising two wonderful daughters and putting them through undergrad and graduate school. Allison Zieve is an expert in administrative law, public health litigation, open government law, federal preemption, class action standards, and the First Amendment. Allison M. Zieve joined Public Citizen Litigation Group in August 1994. In 2009, she became the Group's director and director of our Supreme Court Assistance Project. She also serves as General Counsel of Public Citizen. Allison's litigation practice addresses public health (such drug safety, food labeling and tobacco issues), consumer safety (such as automobile standards), open government, federal preemption, class action standards, and First Amendment issues (in the context of federal regulation and of the Internet). Many of her cases involve issues related to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as well as the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, among other agencies. Allison has argued five cases before the United States Supreme Court and many more in the federal appellate and district courts. Allison serves as a member of the Administrative Conference of the United States and the American Law Institute, and has served as a board member and board chair of the Food and Drug Law Institute. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Yale Law School, Georgetown University School of Law and American University's Washington College of Law. Craig Holman, Ph.D., serves as Public Citizen's Capitol Hill lobbyist on ethics, lobbying and campaign finance rules. Craig is an expert on campaign finance reform, governmental ethics, lobbying practices and the impact of money in politics.
