I graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor's Degree and then went on to earn my Master's degree at the University of Louisville. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including: school and home based therapy; out-patient and private practice. I am the founder/owner of Ferris & Associates and specialize in treating Women's issues, such as: Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders; general anxiety and depression; grief and loss; relationship and career issues. My experience as a childbirth educator has enhanced my ability to treat the needs of post-partum women as they transition into motherhood. This journey is one that is often met with unexpected emotions and I help women identify these feelings so they can resolve issues that may complicate parenthood. I recognize the impact of pregnancy loss and infertility as well, and help my client process through these unique kinds of grief.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families helping them navigate through life's most difficult challenges and transitions. Prior to private practice, I worked as a mitigation specialist, pediatric social worker, and with victims of violent crime. My experience has offered me the opportunity to guide individuals and families through their trauma.
It is my goal to provide a warm, safe, and inclusive environment where you feel welcomed and understood with any life stressors you are experiencing. I am committed to empowering and supporting you as you become the best version of yourself.
I have a Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University, a Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Social Work degrees from Ball State University. I also completed The Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) Fellowship with Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics - Section of Adolescent Medicine.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years experience in working with adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced trauma and loss. I have worked in a variety of settings, including home-based therapy and outpatient therapy. I have specialized knowledge in working with adoption and trauma. Other issues I address include: anxiety, depression, grief, loss, family issues, self-esteem, parenting, stress management, behavioral challenges, relationship issues, and other emotional challenges. I am trained in Level 1 and 2 of Brainspotting. I also enjoy doing walk-and-talk sessions!
Life is a journey and can be challenging at times. I believe people benefit from having someone who can help them navigate life's challenges. I provide a safe and supportive environment in which the client can process and navigate those challenges. I provide a client-centered approach and work to tailor the sessions based on the client's needs and strengths. I strive to help clients identify their strengths and build upon them to help them through life's challenging times.
