Wepsela started the Hastings Bath House establishment, which is now the Hastings Spa located in the up-and-coming Strathcona Village neighborhood near downtown Vancouver, because he wanted to bring a 1,000 years old Finnish spa tradition to Vancouver and the practice is still carried on at the same purpose built venue today.
