I have been a dentist at Hornby Dental Centre for 19 years. After graduating from Otago Dental School I worked for a year as a Dental House Surgeon in Christchurch. This proved to be a valuable learning experience treating medically, physically and mentally compromised people. I have also worked in practices in Hawera, Auckland and London. Working in the U.K. was a wonderful opportunity to combine work and travel for a few years.

Job Titles:

I started at Hornby Dental Centre at the beginning of 2015 upon the retirement of Dennis Bycroft. I wish Dennis well in his retirement, after many years looking after his patients at Hornby and I will endeavour to continue to look after the dental needs of his patients.

Mark Wareing

Job Titles:
  • Dentist
I graduated in 1984 with a B.D.S. After 2 years working in the North Island I did the ‘usual' stint in the UK for 3 years before returning to Christchurch in 1991 and taking over the practice from John Muir. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry including oral surgery and I can provide intravenous sedation for anxious patients or difficult procedures.

Pamela Wong

Job Titles:
  • Dentist
After graduating from Otago University, my journey in dentistry began in an emergency center in Hamilton, where I quickly recognized the importance of problem solving dental issues. Subsequently, I had the privilege of serving the rural community in Pokeno, where I ensured a full range of quality dental care and services were readily accessible to all. Now, I'm excited to embrace a new chapter in my career by joining Hornby Dental Centre in Christchurch, where I can be closer to some of my dearest friends. Beyond the dental chair, I have a passion for culinary adventures, and you might find me experimenting in the kitchen. On quieter evenings, I love to unwind with a cozy night in, enjoying Netflix and movies.

Originally a country boy from Oamaru, I graduated from the University of Otago with my Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1994. I worked in Hamilton at an accident and emergency dental clinic for three years and during that time got my private pilots license. I then decided it was time to see the world. I travelled extensively in Europe and UK and did some dentistry under the NHS which was a great experience.
