Accessed by a 27 kilometre all-weather road, Jean Marie River First Nation is located on the banks of the mighty Mackenzie River and is home to some 70-plus year round residents. It is about 127 kilometres east of Fort Simpson and 354 kilometres west of the Town of Hay River... One of our main goals is to develop a sustainable, community-controlled economy. We intend to successfully combine education, training and work opportunities for members (i.e. the ability to learn about business awareness, economic development and entrepreneurship) with sustainable business ventures and practices. A key component of our success in business revolves around maintaining a dedicated Economic Development Officer / Corporation Manager...
