Mike has been in the automotive industry in both retail and corporate positions for 25 years. He is originally from Benton, Tennessee where he grew up working on a neighbor's farm from age 9 to age 18. He then went to Carson-Newman College on a football scholarship where he was blessed to have played Free Safety on 2 National Championship teams. During his summers through his college years, he was a whitewater guide on the Ocoee River. After graduating college with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education, Mike coached football and baseball and taught English on the high school level for 10 years. To earn more money to support a growing family, Mike began selling cars for a Toyota dealership in the summers, and this is when he fell in love with the automotive industry. What attracted Mike to the Asbury Automotive Group is its unwavering commitment to core values that are very much like his own. He believes treating people with dignity and respect, being transparent and honest, treating people like family, and that being courteous and gracious to everyone is how businesses thrive and are successful. He also believes having a great attitude, being kind, and having a strong work ethic are controllable choices we can make every day, and he strives every day to make a positive impact on the people around him.
