Our founder, Barry McNamara, was a successful farmer and grazier on the Darling Downs before he joined the finance industry in 1989. For the 20 years prior to joining the finance industry, Barry was also a crop assessor for a number of insurance firms who were insuring crops against fire and hail damage. During his successful and high profile career in agribusiness finance, Barry saw a need in the market for someone who would be a true advocate for the primary producer. Drawing upon his own experience as a producer, a crop assessor and a banker, he started McNamara Agribusiness Management and Finance in 2007. Barry's strong personal belief is that primary producers are vital to health of the economy and people being the suppliers of food, providing jobs and contributing to their communities all the while displaying an amazing amount of resilience despite so many factors being beyond their control.
