Northeastern Masonry & Chimney was founded in 1993 by Joseph Shear, who had been working with an Albany-based chimney company for some time. During his first 5 years in business, Shear and his small team of sweeps worked on a variety of chimney and masonry jobs, gaining extensive cleaning, inspection and repair experience. As time went on, Shear and his team grew eager to learn as much as possible about their craft, attending seminars and education courses from both the local and National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG).
