PIERREMONT PEDIATRICS - Key Persons

Abbey McGough Carroll

I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and moved to Shreveport in 2007 with my husband, Warren, who is a pilot in the Air Force. Following my college graduation in Birmingham from Samford University, I went to medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. After my pediatrics internship at The Children's Hospital of Alabama, I moved to LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport for my pediatrics residency. Upon completing my training, I joined Pierremont Pediatrics and felt at home from the start. I am board certified in pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I am a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Shreveport Medical Society. I have four children, three boys and one girl, who keep life very exciting! We are members of Broadmoor Baptist Church where we are very involved in the family ministry and missions. Our family loves to travel and spend time outdoors.

D. Gene Mack, Jr

I grew up in Shreveport and attended college at Louisiana Tech University. In 1986, I graduated from LSU Medical Center-Shreveport. After completing my internship and residency in pediatrics at Arkansas Children's Hospital, I joined my father's practice here in Shreveport in 1989. I am a member of the Northwest Louisiana Medical Society, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society. From 1990 to 2008 I was the medical director of the Caddo Parish Title I Program. I am married with two daughters who work in Shreveport. In our spare time, my wife and I enjoy fishing or working in our yard.

Emily Robinson Hobson

I am a Shreveport native with a childhood dream of becoming a pediatrician. My local education journey included Caddo Magnet High School, Centenary College of Louisiana, and LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. After my formal schooling, I had the opportunity to complete my internship and pediatrics residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). My professional associations include the Northwest Louisiana Pediatric Society for which I served a term as president in 2013. Improving the health and wellness of children in Northwest Louisiana since 2007 is my pleasure, which I now do with the dedicated team at Pierremont Pediatrics. Collaborative, comprehensive, and caring is my treatment philosophy. This means I listen carefully to parents who know and want the best for your children. I am happy to combine evidence-based medicine with other treatment philosophies that you might bring if it supports your child's health. My husband, David, and I are very busy with our three children. Together we are active members of First United Methodist Church Shreveport, world missions, and our community. I personally enjoy participating in and supporting the arts, and traveling the world.

Mackey Sugar Quinlan

I am a native of Shreveport. Although I left to attend Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, I was excited to come back home. Staying in Shreveport and being close to my family was important to me. After medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport, I stayed here to complete my residency. I am a board-certified pediatrician (American Board of Pediatrics) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. It was an honor to join the practice of my own childhood pediatrician, the late Dr. Donald Mack. When I am not working, I am usually running around after my kids at their many activities or volunteering at their school. We are also very involved in our church and enjoy spending time with our family and friends.
