Mr Jens Streit

Mr Jens Streit is an experienced advocate and has represented a range of private and Government clients in inquests, hearings, trials and appeals across state and federal jurisdictions. In addition to court work, Mr Streit is experienced as counsel appearing in public and private coercive inquiries, commissions of inquiry and corruption investigations, including as counsel assisting. Mr Streit commenced practice as a barrister and solicitor in Hobart, Tasmania in 1998 before accepting a commission as a legal officer in the Australian Regular Army, serving in Australia and overseas. During his service, Mr Streit appeared as a senior prosecutor in military trials as well as appeals against conviction before the Defence Force Discipline Appeals Tribunal. He also appeared as counsel in military inquiries, including into the death of service members occurring overseas. In March 2012, Mr Streit returned to private practice and was called to the Bar in Queensland. His practice is focused in the areas of criminal law, inquests and inquiries, public administrative law and regulatory proceedings. Mr Streit accepts briefs throughout Queensland and interstate. Mr Streit holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Tasmania. He is a Colonel in the Australian Army Reserve.

Nola Pearce

Nola is also a past Chair of the QLS Ethics Committee, and a contributing editor to the QLS's first edition commentary to the Australian Solicitors' Conduct Rules. She is a part-time lecturer in Professional Ethics at the College of Law in Brisbane, and is a regular and popular presenter to professional education events on all aspects of civil procedure, evidence and professional ethics.
