SASPRI comprises two not-for-profit organisations: Southern African Social Policy Research Insights (registered in the UK), and Southern African Social Policy Research Institute NPC (registered in South Africa). SASPRI is committed to a rights-based approach to social policy as a route for development in the region. SASPRI undertakes a wide range of research to develop the evidence base for social policy interventions... SASPRI is involved in 3 studies investigating the distributional impact of COVID-19 and state led remedial measures... With debates in South Africa focusing on the national minimum wage, SASPRI is involved in a number of initiatives designed to shed light on the amount required for a decent standard of living. These initiatives take as their starting point the need to establish consensus amongst all population groups and income groups as to what comprises a decent standard of living.
