Daniel Hiebert

Daniel grew up in California and was able to sample a lot of the outdoor goodness that the Golden State has to offer from a very young age. Backpacking and hiking in the Sierras as a child turned into climbing while in college and he has never looked back. After learning to climb in Yosemite and Southern California in the Fall of 2011 Daniel has enjoyed teaching people how to climb just as much as he loves doing it on his own. After guiding climbing and backpacking trips in the Sierra Nevadas for 6 seasons, Daniel moved to Bend in 2017 to see what the rest of the West coast had to offer. After working at the Bend Rock Gym for most of his time in Bend, Daniel has decided to take his skills back outside after completing his AMGA Rock Guide Course in the Fall of 2020. When not climbing at Smith Rock, Daniel can be found biking around Bend, sampling good coffee, deciding if he likes snowsports, and playing some friendly games of Ultimate Frisbee.
