Vernon Meinke, owner and operator of South Shore Towing and Salvage, received much of his experience in the marine field from commercial marina contracting in the family business since the age of 13. Captain Meinke spent many hours on Lake Erie and realized the need of assistance for disabled boaters was in demand.
