In 1986 the Vullo's only son Sal took over as the sole proprietor. Sal runs the restaurant in the same fashion as his parents, combining his Italian heritage and his American upbringing. The Black Stallion is one of the oldest family owned and operated restaurants in the area... The Black Stallion is an Italian restaurant located in Vernon NY. Located close to Utica and the Turning Stone. Home made Italian Food with catering options... At the Black Stallion the staff is like family. Some of the staff has been with the restaurant for many years. The head Chef Jeff Beam has been collaborating with the Vullo family for 25 years.
