INSIGHTS - Key Persons
I am a licensed psychiatrist in Dallas, practicing in all areas of psychiatry and specializing in depression and anxiety disorders. I am available to prescribe and adjust medications for those who require it. I also serve as an independent consulting psychiatrist for Insights' clients who require medication as a complement to therapy. Although not all therapy clients need medication, those who do can benefit greatly from the additional relationship with a psychiatrist who is qualified to judge the efficacy of prescribed medications and make adjustments where needed. This, along with therapy, produces optimal results for the client. I encourage my patients to seek therapy when it is appropriate.
Growing up in Dallas, I knew at age three that I wanted to be a doctor, my passion sparked by the World Book Encyclopedia's transparent overlays of the human anatomy. As a teenager I attended high school at High School for the Health Professions, graduating first in my class, and went on to graduate magna cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry from TCU. I then earned my MD at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
As a psychiatrist in Dallas, I have sixteen years of experience in private practice medicine, including the former position of Director of Outpatient Services at Timberlawn Mental Health System, a comprehensive and integrated system of psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults, adolescents and children.
