UmojaSwitch (Umoja) is a shared network of electronic payment and electronic fund transfer channels that interconnects banks together with other service providers. Umoja is a shared platform for banks and financial institutions which have a common goal of providing electronic payment services to their customers at a low cost. Umoja network is managed by UmojaSwitch Company Limited, a company which started as consortium in 2006 and later became a company in 2012. UmojaSwitch Co. Ltd. Is mainly owned by banks.
