Dr. Brent Kanar

Brent Kanar, DMD, born and raised in the Pittsburgh, PA area, recently moved to Houston upon completion of his comprehensive three-year dental anesthesiology residency through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Medical Education Program. Brent received his B.S. in biology from Juniata College in 2008 and then in 2012 earned his DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he spent a significant amount of his clinical training time focused on the practice of anesthesia for phobic and special needs patients. During his anesthesiology residency, he completed rotations in internal medicine at UPMC Mercy, critical care medicine at UPMC Presbyterian, general anesthesia at UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore/St. Margaret's, obstetric anesthesia at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital, and pediatric anesthesia at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Brent is looking forward to his new home in Texas and hopes to share his knowledge and training with the dental community of the Houston area.

Dr. Jason Sherrell

Jason Sherrell, DDS, a native Texan, received his DMD degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Jason then completed a three-year post-doctoral dental anesthesiology residency program, a unit of the medical anesthesiology residency program administered through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Medical Education Program.

Ronald J. Redden

Ronald J. Redden, DDS is a graduate of University of North Texas and Baylor College of Dentistry. He completed a comprehensive residency in dental anesthesiology at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr Redden is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and past Head of the Section of Anesthesiology in the Department of Oral Surgery at the University of Texas - Houston Dental Branch. He has developed teaching curriculum for professional students, residents, and TSBDE anesthesia certification courses, published numerous journal articles and book chapters on sedation and anesthesia, is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He held hospital and staff positions in anesthesiology with the Harris County Hospital District and The University of Texas Health Science Center from 1990 - 2008 until founding Anesthesia Alternatives. Dr. Redden is a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and has served as a consultant for the Anesthesia Advisory Committee for the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
