Dr. Thompson joined Atlantic Radiology Associates in 2017 . She is also an Assistant Professor at the Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. Thompson enjoys being the person to help kids through each process and calm their nerves. (The kids love to see their X-rays and what it looks like!) She is passionate about pediatric imaging and fetal imaging in particular.
Dr. Thompson was born and raised in Savannah. When not at work, she spends much of her time with her husband (who is her high school sweetheart), her two boys, and her friends. She also enjoys cooking, boating, crabbing, fishing, being on the water.
Dr. Schilling joined Atlantic Radiology Associates and the faculty at Memorial in 2006 after completing a fellowship at the Barrow Institute. His areas of interest include vascular lesions, spine imaging, tumor imaging and head/neck imaging. He enjoys boating, skiing, theatricals, traveling and exploring new places.
Dr. Runyan joined Atlantic Radiology Associates and the faculty at Memorial in 2019. After completing his Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention fellowship in 2010, Dr. Runyan spent 9 years in clinical practice in central Florida. His interests include joint imaging, sports medicine, MSK interventions, MSK US and breast radiology. He is a member of the Society of Skeletal Radiology. His family of four, tennis, surfing, CrossFit, and salt-water fly fishing keep him busy in his hometown of Bluffton, SC.

Dr. Helmly joined Atlantic Radiology Associates and the faculty at Memorial in 2014. He has served as program director from 2015-2021 and is currently the President of Atlantic Radiology. Dr. Helmly served as Chief Resident and Administrative Chief Resident. His areas of interest include resident education, complex body imaging, body/chest intervention and cardiac imaging. Dr. Helmly is an Assistant Professor at the Mercer University School of Medicine. He enjoys that his work allows him to review challenging cases and interact with clinical colleagues in every aspect of medicine. Dr. Helmly is married with four kids and in his free time enjoys travel sports, boating and fishing.

Dr. Hulsey joined Atlantic Radiology Associates and the faculty at Memorial in 2005, currently serving as the radiology residency research director. Dr. Hulsey's clinical interests include mammography, ultrasound, and emergency radiology. An avid golfer and fisherman, Dr. Hulsey enjoys spending time on the water with friends and family.

Dr. Patel joined Atlantic Radiology Associates and the faculty at Memorial in July 2018. He focuses on resident education with clinical interests in stroke imaging, head and neck and pediatric neuroradiology. Outside of radiology, he enjoys traveling, astronomy, cooking and gardening.
Dr. Snyder joined Atlantic Radiology Associates and the faculty at Memorial in 2013. He covers mammography at Hilton Head Hospital and general diagnostic radiology at Memorial. Dr. Snyder is an Assistant Professor at the Mercer University School of Medicine. He describes radiology as the center of the hospital, as it gives exposure to a different variety of medicine. Dr. Snyder enjoys being at the beach, where he grew up. A good day outside of work to Dr. Snyder is being at the beach with his children Additionally in his spare time, Dr. Snyder enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.

DeMello is an expert in Breast Imaging and has been with our team since 2023. She completed her residency and fellowship at Brown University and has been practicing in radiology since 2019. Helping with the fight against breast cancer is important to Dr. DeMello, especially seeing her patients and keeping the continuity of care. As an avid outdoors lover, Dr. DeMello and her husband enjoy going on bike rides, hiking, and being in nature.

Dr. Dixon joined Atlantic Radiology Associates and the faculty at Memorial in 2006. He served as the residency program director from 2012-2015 and assistant program director from 2006-2012. His areas of interest include resident education, musculoskeletal imaging, mammography, and cardiac imaging including cardiac CTA and MRI. He is a member of the Society of Skeletal Radiology and is actively involved in the Georgia Radiological Society. He is an avid sports fan and is particularly fond of the Florida Gators.
