BIFCU is a non profit organization financial institution serving the employees of Duquesne Light (BI and Elrama) and First Energy (Beavery Valley Power Station) and their families. We are not a traditional bank - we are owned by our members and are able to return our earnings to them through higher savings rates and offer low or no fee products. This relationship also allows us to offer lower loan rates than many of our competitors... BIFCU is led by a volunteer Board of Directors, who are elected by the membership. The Board establishes the policies used to run day to day operations in the office... B. I. (Brunot Island) Federal Credit Union was started in 1949 with the goal of serving the employees of the Brunot Island Power Station and their families with federally-insured share accounts that provide a competitive quarterly dividend, as well as low loan rates for vehicle purchases or other needs.
