Dr Erasmus H. Owusu is a Conservation Biologist with a PhD in Biodiversity Management and has extensive knowledge of conservation issues in Ghana and Africa. He has 20 years functional experience in biodiversity management in different capacities with special interest in community-based natural resource management and protected areas management planning. Until 2010, he was the Executive Director of the Ghana Wildlife Society which is the largest national conservation NGO in Ghana. Dr Owusu is a member of the National Biodiversity Committee and was part of the team that developed the national biodiversity strategy for Ghana. He was the current chairman of the National Wetlands Committee of Ghana. Within the period he has supervised a number of students' projects at both graduate and undergraduate levels and published fifteen scientific articles in refereed journals. At the international level, Dr Owusu is a current member of the Global Council of BirdLife International (UK). He was the chair of the Council of African Partners of BirdLife International between 2005 and 2006 and currently a member of the African Regional Committee of BirdLife International..

His experience include Settlement and Stability analyses of fill over Soft Soils, Lateral Support Systems, Shallow and Deep Foundations, Rock Slope Stability, Liquefaction Evaluation, Landslide Evaluation, Pavement Design, Pavement Design Reviews , Road and Buildings Constructional Material Testing and Quality Control/Assurance.

Joe has over eighteen (18) years experience in environmental management planning, environmental impact assessment and auditing, environmental resources management, environmental laws and policy framework development, environmental impact of development projects and with considerable experience in natural resources, ecosystems conservation and management. His functional expertise in Environmental and Natural Resources Management include impact identification and prediction, impact evaluation, mitigation and monitoring of development projects. Other areas of his expertise include occupational health and environmental safety management, environmental management systems (ISO 14000) design and total quality management (TQM). Joseph has over the years been involved in conducting evaluations and assessments of projects, developing and establishing Knowledge Management Systems through the assessment of trends using M&E performance indicators, as well as the creation of central database systems for information management and analysing lessons learned to enhance organisational M&E processes.
