Dr. Alex Valdés is a class of 2000 veterinary graduate from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico. Several years of general practice, both in private referral hospitals and academia preceded a 3 year specialty training in veterinary radiology at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated and became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Radiology in 2008.
Subsequently, Alex joined the faculty team at Colorado State University as an Assistant Professor in Diagnostic Imaging. After 5 years in academia, he became a partner with Veterinary Imaging Consultants, Inc. in the Denver metro area performing mobile ultrasonography and teleradiology.

Dr. Deb started Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic in May 2006. She was inspired by her love of animals and the desire to practice in her home community. Dr. Patterson received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 2000 at Colorado State University. She previously received a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Emily grew up in Minneapolis, MN. She received both her BS and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees from the University of Minnesota. She is excited about moving to Colorado to serve the pets and people of Castle Rock!
Dr. Emily is passionate about partnering with her clients to provide high quality care while keeping patient stress to a minimum. Her professional interests include dentistry, internal medicine, and surgery. While she loves both dogs and cats, has a special place in her heart for her feline patients and is a Certified Cat Friendly Veterinarian.
In her free time, Dr. Emily enjoys hiking, camping, cooking, and exploring local breweries with her soon-to-be husband Joe. Their animal family consists of two cats: a sweet calico named Pekoe and a spicy tripod kitty named Artemis. They hope to adopt a dog very soon!
Dr. Haleigh Skinner is from Edmond Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2022. Her lifelong passion for animals and science led her to pursue a career as a small animal veterinarian.
Dr. Haleigh enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to spend her weekends camping, backpacking, or hiking. She has a cat named Frankie and shares custody of her Golden Retriever/ German Shepherd dog named Luna with her identical twin sister who is also a veterinarian!

Dr. Kathy joined Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic full time in March 2013. She was raised on a farm and ranch in the Flinthills of Kansas and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Kansas State University in 1992.
Prior to moving to Colorado in 2006, she taught at the Veterinary Teaching Hospitals at Kansas State and Auburn University. In 1998, she became a board certified specialist in Canine and Feline Practice in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
Dr. Kathy's professional interests include animal behavior, internal medicine and nurturing the human-animal bond. Her hobbies include gardening, beading and spending time with her family. The Drs. Gaughan have two adult children who are pursuing degrees in the animal and agricultural sciences. The Gaughan ranch is home to Labradors, a Boston Terrier, 2 cats, 3 horses and a variable number of chickens.
Elisia is from Lakewood, Colorado and has been with PAWS Pet Resort since December of 2019. She has one pup, affectionately known to all as Scary Terry. When Elisia is not at work, she enjoys painting and exploring with Terry.

Heather started at Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic in June of 2019. She has several years of experience working with animals in many different areas. She has worked in the Denver area as a Certified Vet Tech and has operated a pet sitting business.
She has two children and her rescue dog Lulu. In her free time she enjoys exercising and spending time at the soccer fields.
Jordyn started grooming at PAWS in May of 2020. Originally from Washington, Jordyn moved to Colorado where a passion for animals led her to begin a career as a groomer. She attended Holly and Hugo dog grooming school and has put in countless hours of on the job training to perfect the art. When she isn't here grooming, Jordyn spends her time doing photography, drawing and doing other various arts and crafts. She also has a 3 year old dog named Chip and an Etsy shop that keep her busy.

Kate is from Parker, Colorado and has been with our company for almost two years. She has two dogs of her own, Bella and Molly. She enjoys going to the dog park and cooking for her friends and family. She is a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Kate has over five years of experience working in doggy daycare's and she plans to attend Veterinary Technician school in the Fall.
Kristin joined the team at Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic in July of 2017. Originally, her passion for animals led her to want to become a veterinarian. With this in mind, she received a degree in biology from CU Boulder. After working in several clinics, she discovered a passion for the business side of veterinary medicine. She is currently back in school to pursue a degree in business management and eventually would like to become certified as a Veterinary Practice Manager.
When not at BVC or studying, Kristin enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their 2 dogs. She loves the weekends where she can get up to the mountains to go snowboarding, hiking, or camping.
Savannah has loved dogs her entire life. She currently has one dog named Paisley and two cats, Peyton and Prince. While in college at CSU she discovered a passion for the dog boarding industry while working at the local pet boarding facility. She worked there for 3 ½ years and left the industry when she moved back home. After 2 years, she realized how much she missed the industry and joined the team at PAWS in March 2019. When she is not at PAWS, she enjoys yoga, Avalanche games, and competing her dog in Nose Work.
