Jesse Willett

Hi my name is Jesse Willett. I was born June 17 1981, in Calgary. My Father raised me as a skier and lover of the outdoors. I graduated in 1999 and took a few years to travel. When I returned to Calgary my Father was upset to learn that I was now a snowboarder. During all this my friend offered me some baseboard work and I've been in love with carpentry since. Working in the field for coming up on 20 years I've spent it learning the finer workings of the craft. Some of my most enjoyable times have been spent figuring out and building complex wine cellars and bars. I still enjoy

Matt Palmer

Job Titles:
  • Foreman
  • Shop Foreman
Matt Palmer is the shop Foreman at Custom Edge Finishing. Matt grew up in Calgary, where he spent a large portion of his childhood building skateboard ramps and rails with close friends which would eventually spark an interest in construction, woodworking specifically. After high school, Matt attended the University of Calgary to study Geography. While in University, Matt spent his summers framing homes, landscaping and general contracting. Upon completion of his University degree, Matt traveled through Asia and Australia. When he returned home, he realized that woodworking was not a hobby but a passion. He then enrolled in the Cabinetmakers Red Seal course at SAIT. Matt met Ryan shortly after completing his Red Seal and has been with Custom Edge since (over 7 years). The dynamic challenges associated with designing, generating cutlists, building and installing woodworking is what keeps Matt interested in his work, along with the tremendous feeling of satisfaction walking into completed homes and seeing all that blood, sweat and hard work reflected in beautiful kitchens, bars, offices and other woodwork. When he is not making sawdust, Matt enjoys playing hockey, mountain biking, hiking, camping and trying to keep up with his two sons.

I am the Operations Manager here at Custom Edge Finishing. After completing a variety of different drafting/architectural courses over a two year period, I then was offered an opportunity in a door manufacturing company and from there I have never looked back.
