Al Riggieri - SVP

Al Riggieri joined Aflac in December 2016 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Actuary. In 2018, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer for AFLAC Inc. In his role, he is responsible for enterprise level actuarial support in the areas of assumption governance, valuation, pricing support and capital efficiency having both direct and indirect relationships across the organization's actuarial resources. He also advises Executive Management in both US and Japan concerning strategic initiatives, quality growth, and expense controls. As CRO he is responsible for enterprise level risk management with both direct and indirect partnerships in US, Japan and Investment teams. Prior to joining Aflac, he held various actuarial positons of increasing responsibility over his 36 year career at Unum Group. In 2010 he became Senior Vice President, Group Chief Actuary with a leadership role in the financial management of the company where he held broad responsibilities for actuarial matters pertaining to pricing, valuation, reinsurance, investments, and capital management. Over his career he has been involved with and made various contributions to industry actuarial committees. Al received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and served as an adjunct professor there teaching actuarial exam preparation courses. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Alessandro Papa

BUSINESS HISTORY: Mr. Papa serves as chief risk officer at Pacific Life and oversees the company's risk management framework and corporate actuarial function. Prior to joining Pacific Life in May 2020, Mr. Papa served as chief of staff to the president and chief executive officer at MetLife, Inc. and was responsible for driving major strategic initiatives and managing MetLife's Reinvestment fund. Andrew (Andy) Rallis

Andrew (Andy) Rallis is Chief Risk Officer for Lincoln Financial Group, responsible for independent oversight of risk across the company - including market risk, asset liability management risk, investment and credit risk, product and insurance risk, operational risk and strategic risk. He is a member of the company's Senior Management Committee and reports to CEO Ellen Cooper. Rallis brings more than 40 years of experience as a risk-management leader in the insurance industry. He most recently served as Executive Vice President, Global Chief Actuary at MetLife, with responsibility for actuarial practices in 40+ markets throughout the company, including actuarial aspects of external financial reporting and internal value-based metrics, oversight of pricing activities, asset liability management and actuarial model development. In 2014 he was named America's Insurance Risk Manager of the Year by GlobalCapital in recognition for his work on MetLife's variable annuity hedging programs. Rallis is a longstanding volunteer with the Society of Actuaries (SOA), notably as a speaker at numerous conferences and events, and for serving as President of the SOA in 2019-20, and on the SOA Board of Directors from 2015-2021. He was also a founder and the inaugural President of the Chief Actuaries Forum and has served on the corporate advisory council of the International Association of Black Actuaries for the past decade. He received Bachelor of Science degrees in both Mathematics and Physics from MIT and is continuing his education at MIT Professional Education with a certificate program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Ben Rosenthal

Benjamin (Ben) Rosenthal joined New York Life in May 2016 and serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer leading Risk Management for the company. From 2012 to 2016, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Operational Risk Officer at Northern Trust, where he was responsible for overseeing the Operational and Fiduciary Risk practices, the development of stress testing and capital models, and leading risk management of the bank's operations business unit. Prior to 2012, he held increasingly responsible positions at Northern Trust, including Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Risk Analytics & Insurance where he oversaw the global development of risk models, risk analytics, and risk transfer solutions. Mr. Rosenthal's early career included the development of operational risk capital models for a large North American bank, building demand forecasting and pricing models for governance agencies, working in the oil and gas exploration industry, and serving in the Israeli military. Mr. Rosenthal has an M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a B.A. in Economics from Wake Forest University.

Bruce R. Jones

Bruce R. Jones is Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at The Travelers. Bruce joined Travelers in 1978 as an actuarial student, working on the Workers Compensation product in Hartford, CT. He has held Chief Actuary positions in both National Accounts (10+ years) and Commercial Accounts (5+ years). He has helped build and lead the current ERM group (over the last 10+ years). He has served as a member of the Individual Risk Committee of the NCCI, the Actuarial Research Committee of ISO, the NY, PA and MA WC Actuarial Committees, and the chairman of AAA ERM subcommittee. He also co-authored papers for the CAS on "Measuring R.O.E. from a Financial Planning Perspective" and for AAA on "Insurance Enterprise Risk Management Practices." Cathy Wallace

She coordinates with State Farm business-area risk owners to identify, report, and measure significant risks while evaluating the processes in place to manage these risks. Deb A. Schultz - VP

Deb A. Schultz is Vice President - Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Northwestern Mutual. Schultz was appointed to this role in December 2022 and is responsible for enterprise risk management oversight. She is also a member of Northwestern Mutual's Finance Leadership team. Previously, Schultz was Vice President - New Business and the head of the New Business Department. In this role, Deb ensured high quality underwriting execution across the product lines while delivering an efficient seamless purchase experience with an unwavering commitment to long-term financial strength. Schultz held other roles within the Company during her 17-year tenure. She was formerly the Vice President - Financial Management and the head of Northwestern Mutual's Financial Management Department. In this role, her responsibilities included leading the Financial Management Department and its four divisions which include Budget & Expense Management, Sourcing and Procurement, Insurable Risk Management, and Treasury. Schultz was also a former member of the Actuarial Department serving as a Senior Actuary, where she had responsibility for the annuity and retirement benefits teams within the Actuarial Department. During her years with Towers Perrin, Schultz consulted to several large companies on the financial management of their pension and post-retirement medical plans while serving as plan actuary. Dervla Tomlin

Doug Niemann

Frances D. O'Brien

Prior to ACE's acquisition of Chubb in 2016, Ms. O'Brien was Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of Chubb, with global responsibility and oversight for identifying, measuring, monitoring and minimizing operational, financial and strategic risks across the organization. Subsequently, he held roles at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) where he oversaw global market risk management for the bank's investment banking, trading and retail activities, leading teams in London, Toronto and ultimately moving to New York. Jason Coyle

Jonathan Porter

Ken McCullum

Earlier in his career, McCullum spent 15 years with The Hartford where he held several positions including leading their institutional investment products division and chief actuary of their legacy holdings division. Marlene Debel

Marlene Debel is MetLife's chief risk officer and a member of the Executive Group. In this role, she is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and managing risk for the enterprise. The Enterprise Controller Division is comprised of approximately 150 people and includes Accounting and Financial Reporting; Tax; Treasury; and Business Technology. Effective January 2023, Mary is also serving as Interim Chief Risk Officer. Mary began her American Family career in 1999. She held positions in the Actuarial and Product Lines divisions until being elected as the P&C Loss Reserving Vice President in February 2010. This role expanded overtime to include newly developed risk functions. She became the Chief Risk Officer in December of 2016, with accountability for capital modeling and analysis, capital allocation methodology development, and quantification of prospective and stressed capital needs, as well as corporate oversight of enterprise risks, including catastrophe management and loss reserving. In 2017, Mary was appointed to the Personal Lines President position, where she was accountable for product development, management and pricing as well as claims, underwriting operations and supporting functions. Mary earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She has a master's certificate in project management. Mary and her husband, Jason, live in Columbus, WI and have four children.

Mary Wagnon

Playing an active role in both strategy and operations, Mary provides leadership, direction and oversight to the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and senior management team concerning Enterprise Risk Management. She established and continues to manage the corporate risk philosophy and appetite, ensuring the company culture maintains risk awareness while aligning with the company's purpose, values and business strategies. Many of Mary's 25 years of experience in financial and actuarial roles has been at Unum, which she joined in 2000 as an actuarial student on the valuation team. She then worked in actuarial Director roles, followed by Assistant Vice President roles in analysis and pricing. She also helped modernize the approach to financial analysis through long-duration target improvements implementation. Prior to joining Unum, she held actuarial assistant roles at MONY Life Insurance Company (AXA) and Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. Meyrick Douglas

Patrick Brennan is Treasurer and CRO of The Progressive Corporation, overseeing treasury, capital strategy and risk management, and investor relations. Prior to his appointment in 2015, he served as Commercial Lines Product Manager. As state product manager, he was responsible for, at various times, eleven states, including Louisiana, Georgia, and Florida. Following his state management role, he was named segment product manager, owning marketing strategy for two countrywide customer verticals, amounting to nearly half the commercial lines division premium.
