Dr. Christina Klimaschka

Dr. Christina Klimaschka was born and raised in Dortmund, Germany. She is a graduate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Leipzig. She moved to Vancouver Island in 2007, and started her career in Canada working as a Veterinary Technician at the Dean Park Pet Hospital. In September of 2010, Dr. Klimaschka attained her credentials as a Canadian Veterinarian and runs part of our general practice treating not just cats and dogs, but also rabbits, pocket pets and bees. When Dr. Klimaschka is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her dog Benji.

Dr. Nicola Parkinson

Dr. Nicky Parkinson joined our practice on May 1st, 2017. Nicky has an adorable Golden Retriever named Isla, 4 Hermann's Tortoises, Man o' War, Secretariat, Northern Dancer and American Pharaoh and a horse named Rosie. She enjoys walking, hiking and boating in and around Greater Victoria. She graduated in 1993 from Western College of Veterinary Medicine and worked in Victoria for 4 years before heading to London, England, and after 3 years in England moved back to Victoria to raise her family with her husband, John.

Dr. Susan McTaggart

  • Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry
Dr. Sue McTaggart graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Zoology from the University of British Columbia. She worked for a year as a wildlife biologist on Vancouver Island before applying to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan. After obtaining her veterinary degree, Dr. McTaggart worked with small and large animals in Medicine Hat, Alberta. In 1982, Dr. McTaggart moved her family to Vancouver Island and established her own small animal veterinary practice, the Deep Cove Pet Clinic, in North Saanich. In 1992, she re-named her practice the Dean Park Pet Hospital and moved it to a larger location on McTavish Road. She obtained certification in acupuncture with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 2002. In January of 2011, Dr. McTaggart finished a rigorous six year study program in veterinary dentistry. Now a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry, Dr. McTaggart enjoys seeing referrals from colleagues on Vancouver Island and has discovered her passion in life - looking animals in the mouth! She has a Pug Shih Tzu cross named Norm, as well as a cat named Thomas. Sue also enjoys playing trombone and managing the Commodores Big Band in Victoria.
