Angie Card

Angie Card received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1996. Angie then went to work for Exxon Chemical Company in Baytown, Texas as a power engineer. She returned to Mississippi State to obtain a Master\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering under Dr. Mark Halpin. Upon completion of her degree, she remained at the university and is currently a Senior Research Engineer at CAVS.

David Saucier

David Saucier is a Research Engineer for the Human Factors and Athlete Engineering Department at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University. He has assisted with planning, design, implementation, and data analysis for multiple studies validating stretch sensor technology as a means for collecting motion data in comparison to gold standard technology. He is also the lab lead for the Human Performance Lab and assists students and other researchers with training on the motion capture system as well as study design.

Dr. Bohumir Jelinek

Dr. Bohumir Jelinek is a physicist and HPC software developer with an educational background that includes scientific formation from American and European universities. He holds a PhD in Physics with a minor in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University. At present, Dr. Jelinek works on big data processing, numerical models for off-road mobility, and simulations of additive manufacturing. His expertise includes interatomic potential development for material science, numerical modeling of Yagi-Uda antennas, development of automatic speech recognition systems using neural networks and hidden Markov models, discrete element/lattice-Boltzmann method for large particle assemblies in fluid, visualization, MPI parallelization, and deployment of container technologies for HPC applications. He is a member of American Physical Society.

Dr. Clay Walden

Dr. Clay Walden serves as the Executive Director of CAVS after serving for many years as the Director of CAVS Extension. He has over 25 years of experience implementing quality and productivity improvements within a variety companies. A partial list of companies includes Mueller Industries, Nissan, Faurecia, PFG Optics, Dover Elevators, Tower Automotive, Herman Miller, and Northrop Grumman Ship Systems. Since joining CAVS, Walden has managed over $20 million in externally funded contracts primarily focused on improving manufacturing performance around the state. One of his primary responsibilities including managing CAVS Extension's involvement within Mississippi's Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP.ms). Since 2006 CAVS Extension's MEP projects around the state have resulted in documented third party impacts of over $5 billion dollars. Walden along with colleague Glenn Dennis received the national MEP Practitioner of the Year for 2008. Walden has a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Mississippi State University. His dissertation is titled "A Taxonomy Based Assessment Methodology for Small and Medium Size Manufacturers." In addition, Walden holds several professional certifications including Six Sigma Black Belt from the American Society for Quality, and is a Jonah from the Goldratt Institute.

Dr. Wilburn Whittington

Dr. Wilburn Whittington is a Research Engineer at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) in the Computational Engineering Mechanics and Materials Science (CEMMS) group. He currently serves the CEMMS group as the High Rate Lab Manager and aids in mechanical experimentation and characterization. Dr. Whittington supervises numerous engineering undergraduate provides K-12 STEM outreach in the areas of mechanical testing and characterization. His Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) high strain rate systems have been deployed at multiple universities in the US and has helped develop the first open source SHPB analysis tool for the dynamic materials community. Dr. Whittington received his PhD from Mississippi State University (MSU) in December of 2015 and has co-authored 21 peer-reviewed journal articles. His research interests are machine design, dynamic experiments, and materials engineering.

Lalitha Dabbiru is an Assistant Research Professor in the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) and adjunct faculty in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University. Her research interests include remote sensing, radar and lidar image processing, and machine learning. Her research activities focused on levee anomaly detection, autonomous vehicles, small satellite engineering and knowledge management systems. Her past work experience include fabrication and integration of multi sensor chips. She received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at Mississippi State University. She is a member of the IEEE.
