ELEGANT UPHOLSTERY

This is probably the most unusual "About" page you have ever seen showing a picture of a child. Look how little I was! This picture was taken more than 40 years ago. But right then at that time I saw for the first time in my life, upholsterers doing their work. Back then at home (Ex-Yugoslavia), upholsterers would come to your house to re-upholster your old couch then move from one house to the other and do all couches in the area. I was immediately hooked on it!... Looking at old and tired furniture is not a very pleasant scene when dismantled in pieces. At that time couches were made out for horsehair, pig hair or sea grass. Coil springs were hand tied with waxed rope. I was fascinated how a mess like that could be transformed into something so beautiful... So, I often spent time watching what upholsters were doing instead of chasing a soccer ball. You could probably imagine how boys called me names because "I had more important things to do!"
