Anna Stybowski


Anthony Lewis - CEO

Since completing his Bachelor of Podiatry at La Trobe University in 2000 Anthony Lewis has worked in a range of Australian healthcare settings serving marginalised population groups predisposed to foot pathology. His passion for working with disadvantaged communities deepened during four respective volunteer experiences abroad in India, Samoa, Kiribati and Nauru. Observing first-hand the startling implications of debilitating foot pathology upon the most vulnerable has motivated Anthony to establish Footscape and systemically alleviate this increasing burden. Anthony has completed further post graduate studies extending to a Master of Public Health at Flinders University and Graduate Certificate in Wound Care at Monash University.

Daniel Bryant

Daniel Bryant is a Web Consultant with over ten years development experience working with both front and back end web development technologies. Daniel is currently working for AHC, A Gallagher Company, bringing to the team a variety of business and technological skills. He is an experienced front end developer but also enjoys the customer facing element of his current role. Recognising the importance and goals of Footscape Daniel served as a founding committee member of the organisation. He has since been responsible for all IT associated activities including website development and maintenance as well as production of electronic newsletters and promotional materials.

James Copes - Treasurer

James is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Degree (Accounting) and Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services. James is currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Avenir (Property Development) and is responsible for all finance and operational functions. James previously held the role of CFO at Hamton Property Group for 6 years overseeing the finance and operational functions of a business that developed property in excess of $1bn. He also led the finance and operational functions of associated businesses including but not limited to Property Management, Sales, Owners Corporation Management, Embedded Networks and Laundrette. Prior to joining the Property Industry James had over 10 years of experience in the accounting profession (mid-tier accounting practices) including provision of compliance and consulting advice to small/medium businesses and high networth individuals. Since 2010, James has been a Director of the Board at Tennis Victoria which included 7 years as the honorary Treasurer. James joined the Footscape Committee during 2016 after many years being involved in fundraising events. His involvement was sparked upon understanding Anthony Lewis' first hand experiences pertaining to implications of debilitating foot pathology and how Footscape can assist disadvantaged communities.

James Gerrard - VP

James is a former lecturer in Podiatry, and a current project Podiatrist and PhD candidate from the land now known as Australia. He lives on Wadawurrung Country, works on Arrernte Country, and studies on Wiradjuri Country. He has over 45 years of accumulated non-Indigenous privilege drawn from a lifetime of social, economic, and political systems which totally benefit him. James acknowledges the Western knowledge systems, colonial lens, and biases that accompany his worldview. He emphasises that he is a learner in healthcare and research spaces and that Western healthcare science has a lot to learn from the original human healers and healthcare science that has been practiced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples on this continent since time immemorial. James works with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to privilege First Nations voices, First Nations worldviews, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, ways of being, and ways of doing. He hopes to contribute to a safer place for First Nations academics, First Nations students, First Nations health practitioners, and First Nations researchers to work and study. He works for equity in healthcare service delivery and equality in healthcare outcomes.

Jenny Farquhar

Jenny has surpassed 23 years of Podiatry experience in rural Victoria and metro Melbourne after graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) in New Zealand. After years of working in private practice and establishing her Podiatry business Jenny's values of social justice and equity ultimately drew her towards providing podiatry services and footwear support to Melbourne's marginalised and vulnerable people. Working within Community Health introduced Jenny to Footscape which enables her to provide footwear and material aid towards improved health outcomes to clients experiencing homelessness; people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; those experiencing financial difficulties; and clients with high-risk foot issues. In appreciation for the resources, she can provide cohealth clients, Jenny joined the working bees in 2022 to offer support for all people benefiting from Footscape.

Molly Thomson

Molly first became interested in podiatry when she sustained running injuries while working as a football boundary umpire. She wanted to understand the mechanism of her medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints) and so began her journey with podiatry, graduating with a Bachelor of Podiatry from Latrobe University in 2009. Molly has undertaken additional studies to broaden her scope of practice: trigger point dry needling; joint mobilisation & manipulation; strong feet muscle retaining; certificates in fitness & personal training; and a Diploma of Health Science (Nutrition & Herbal Medicine). Molly has also volunteered as a podiatrist along checkpoints for fundraising events as the Oxfam 100km trail walk, and the Peter MacCallum 60km walk. Molly has worked in private podiatry clinics in Wagga Wagga NSW, Shepparaton Vic, Mackay QLD, and various practices across metropolitan Melbourne. Molly also spent some time working in the Chronic Wound Clinic at the Caulfield hospital as well as the Caulfield Community Health Service. Currently Molly works 3 days a week at Ozanam House Homelessness Resource Centre, and two days a week in private practice with the Foot & Ankle Clinic (CBD & East Melbourne). Molly grew up in Brunswick, and now lives with her wife Abbie in the inner west. In their spare time Molly & Abbie enjoy spending time in their garden with the goal of one day owning a small sustainable farm.

Rebecca Mannix

Rebecca has over 20 years experience in podiatry, working extensively in public practice and recently in private practice. She has previously worked for over a decade with clients experiencing homelessness in community healthcare settings, often using material aid provided by footscape to assist her clients with their foot health. She is honoured to have an article pertaining to this work published in Journal of Foot and Ankle in 2022 Responding to foot health needs of people experiencing homelessness: the role of a publicly funded community-based podiatry service - PubMed (nih.gov) She has previously also worked in culturally and linguistically diverse communities, high-risk communities and in acute hospital settings both in Australia and the United Kingdom. Rebecca loves living in Melbourne and working in her community in bayside, where you'll find her walking her dog Barney.

Shan Bergin - President

Shan is a Lecturer in the Discipline of Podiatry, School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport. Shan has a keen interest in clinical education and currently works as the Year Level Coordinator for the 4th (final) year podiatry student cohort and is subject coordinator for both 4th year clinical subjects. Shan has also taught into research-focused subjects for 1st and 2nd year students, and clinical assessment and high-risk foot subjects for 3rd years. Previously, Shan has worked as both a podiatric clinician and researcher and has a particular interest in the high-risk foot (e.g., diabetes related foot disease), wound management, and the impact of psychosocial factors on clinical outcomes in populations with chronic disease. Shan is the current Chair of the Australian Podiatry Education and Research Foundation as well as current President of Footscape.

Stephanie Crookston

Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science/Masters of Podiatric Practice at La Trobe University in 2017, following completing a Bachelor of Medical Bioscience with Monash University.
