Joe Gibbons is managing partner at Gibbons & Gibbons, P.C., a family-owned accounting firm in Northern Virginia. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) with 32 years of experience providing expert accounting, tax, and business development advice to businesses in Northern Virginia and across the country. Joe is proud to be part of a four-generation family of CPAs. It truly is in his blood. Much more than a tax preparer, Joe works hand in hand with his clients to identify goals for their businesses and help them implement tools and processes to save time, grow revenue, and achieve their strategic objectives. He is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor with deep knowledge in the support and training of QuickBooks online, desktop, and point-of-sale products. Joe specializes in working with small to mid-sized professional services companies, with particular expertise in working with law firms. He functions as an outsourced chief financial officer, taking on controller duties, overseeing clients' capital structure, and recommending the best path forward for the company. His favorite part of the job is making his clients' jobs easier by connecting them with technology and solutions to help them grow and succeed. Before joining Gibbons & Gibbons, Joe spent over six years in retail management for a large sporting goods chain and a regional leather and specialty goods operation. He also spent four years as chief financial officer for a large regional courier service. Joe received his Bachelor of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has been a QuickBooks Pro Advisor since the start of the program in 1997 and is a past member of the Accountant Advisory Council for Intuit, the makers of QuickBooks. A father of two, Joe enjoys home brewing, volunteering in the local community, and cheering on the Washington Capitals.
