Hannah Doyle

Hannah Doyle practises predominately in the areas of civil litigation, public law and appellate matters. She has significant experience in the areas of professional indemnity and medical negligence and regularly appears in disciplinary tribunals and coronial inquests. Hannah Doyle joined Hanson Chambers in 2021. She was previously a solicitor at Iles Selley Lawyers, and a principal of that firm since July 2018. Hannah was previously an Associate to the Honourable Justice Mansfield AM of the Federal Court of Australia. Hannah's tertiary qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Law (First Class Honours), a Bachelor of Arts (Politics) and a Diploma in Languages (French) from the University of Adelaide.

Robert Williams

Robert has a broad commercial practice with a particular focus on general commercial, construction, competition/trade practices and class action litigation in the Federal and State Courts, as well as on commercial arbitration matters. Robert has acted in a wide range of disputes in the Federal Court, the Supreme Courts of South Australia, Victoria and the Northern Territory, and the High Court of England and Wales. Robert has also acted in a significant number of arbitrations, including ACICA, ICSID, ICC, LCIA and IAMA arbitrations, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and ACICA. Before coming to the Bar, Robert was a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution group at King & Wood Mallesons (previously Mallesons Stephen Jaques) in Melbourne. Prior to that, he was an Associate in the Litigation/Arbitration group at Shearman & Sterling LLP in London. He was previously also an Associate to Justice Mansfield in the Federal Court. Robert holds a first class Master of Law degree from the University of Cambridge (with a commercial law specialisation) and a Bachelor of Law degree with first class honours from Bond University. Robert is also a member of List A Barristers in Victoria and is available to appear in, and/or advise in relation to, proceedings in Victoria.

Thomas McFarlane

Thomas McFarlane is an experienced litigator, with a broad practice in commercial, civil, public law and appellate matters. He has a particular focus upon large scale and complex disputes, including in the areas of contract, corporations, insolvency, construction, professional negligence, trusts and estates. He regularly appears in the Federal and Supreme Courts and various arbitral and other tribunals. Thomas joined the independent bar in 2020, following an extended period in private practice, including most recently as Principal at Lipman Karas (now LK Law) in Adelaide. He commenced his career as an Associate to the Honourable Chief Justice Robert French AC, during his Honour's time as a justice of the Federal Court of Australia, before working in large firms in Perth and London. Thomas' tertiary qualifications include an Honours Degree in Law (First Class), a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations) and a Master of Arts by thesis (International Law), all from Flinders University. In 2018, he was admitted as an Attorney in New York.
