Charlotte Lewer

Charlotte has recently returned part time to the office after having a baby. She is our receptionist, along with her dog Ruby! Charlotte enjoys eating out, holidays in the sunshine and art galleries.

Christian Mirando ARB

Job Titles:

Christian first joined Lytle Associates in 2014 as a Part I student, returning in 2017 after his Part II studies to work towards his final professional qualifications. He completed his first degree and Masters at the University of Lincoln and is now working towards achieving his Part III qualification at Kingston University. Christian's experience focuses on large masterplanning and residential developments. Primarily involved in conceptual designs and producing presentation drawings and planning application packages. Outside the office Christian enjoys running and playing basketball. He is currently the LAA Fantasy Football Champion and is keen on retaining the title.

Darren Page

Job Titles:

Darren joined Lytle Associates in 1995 and quickly developed a specialism in residential design and large scale masterplanning. Darren has extensive experience and expertise in this field, combining the crucial balance of planning, architectural and commercial values to achieve optimum solutions. Darren became an associate with the practice in 2001 and is now an equity director. Darren studied Architecture at the University of Portsmouth. In his Diploma year he was awarded the Barrington Smith travelling Scholarship and consequently went to work with visionary architect Paolo Soleri at his "Urban Laboratory" of Arcosanti in Arizona. Darren has been responsible for major projects throughout the UK including 700 residential units at Leybourne Grange in Kent, 500 units at Runwell Hospital in Essex, high density urban schemes in the London Borough's of Harrow, Newham and Greenwich. Both private and public sector clients alike call upon Darren's expertise to fully realise the potential of development opportunities. Darren specialises in tackling challenging sites having obtained consents in the Green Belt and countryside, in conservation sensitive areas including listed buildings, and schemes with a number of different site constraints. Darren enjoys running and keeping healthy.

Emma Treeby

Emma joined the practice as Office Manager in October 2022, having run her own two businesses for the past decade. She is now very happy to be working in a team, in such a creative and collaborative environment. We are enjoying having a fresh pair of eyes to challenge how we run things. Emma has a 1 st class BSc (Hons) in Consumer & Product Science and is also a qualified Primary school teacher and a trained massage therapist. Away from work, Emma is an ‘outdoors' person. She is a very keen gardener who also enjoys long country walks. She adores walking in the Lake District. As well as an avid reader, she is also an ‘occasional' writer of poetry.

Emma Young

We are delighted to welcome Emma as an Architectural Technologist to Lytle Associates. Emma has joined us following five years at a smaller practice in Godalming, where she worked on a number of listed buildings - including some large residential projects - from concept to completion. Prior to that, Emma was based in Winchester for almost 15 years, working on high-end residential projects, and specialising in Arts & Craft properties. In her free time, Emma likes to spend time outdoors with her family and new puppy Obi. She also helps organise training and fixtures for a local U7's rugby team.

Ian Davis

Ian Davis joined Lytle Associates in 1989 as a senior associate, after working for a number of commercial architectural practices. He became a full equity partner in 1994 and was managing director until spring 2021. Ian is now a consultant to the practice, supporting his long term clients and nurturing the early stages of larger scale strategic projects.

Jonathan Tan

Jon is the design studio leader with responsibility for design quality and digital imagery. He develops 3D models of many of our sites and creates walk throughs and imagery for clients and presentations. Jon first joined Lytle Associates in 2010, following completion of his part 1 studies at the University of Bath. After studying his Masters in Architecture at Oxford Brookes University, he rejoined the practice in 2013. Jon qualified as an Architect in 2016, and has since been appointed an Associate Director. Primarily involved in conceptual design and the delivery of planning applications, Jon has recently completed a large dwelling in the green belt on the outskirts of Guildford. He has also played a key role in the design of Farnham Memorial Hall, a contemporary development of 46 units in Epsom, and an Estate Masterplan for a landowner in Shamley Green. Outside work Jon can usually be found watching Formula 1, playing badminton or dining in one of the towns finest kebab shops.

Lucy Butler ARB

Lucy joined the practice in 2016 as a Part II student. Having completed her first degree at Bath, she moved to Oxford Brookes for her masters and Brighton for her part III. Lucy has strong design skills and has found a niche in the practice creating presentation drawings and planning application packages. Her experience covers residential, commercial and education sectors, taking projects through from initial design to construction on site. Away from the office, Lucy enjoys travel as well as attending gigs and music festivals home and abroad.

Mark Chambers

Mark Chambers joined GLA in 2004 as senior architectural technician and became and associate in 2013. Mark has a keen interest in design and oversees the monthly practice design forum where projects both in the office and in the media are discussed and debated with the team. Mark enjoys making the most complex details look simple and contemporary. He is currently working on the redevelopment of an industrial unit in Clapham to a children's nursery along with a number of projects for residential clients and developers in and around Guildford. He was also responsible for the recently completed "Highpoint" contemporary residential scheme in Nightingale Road, Guildford which acts as a gateway into the town centre. Mark is a soulful house music fanatic and a keen cyclist.

Mark Furner

Mark joined us in 1994 and has gone on to run some of the practice's largest and most complex projects, including the £30 million House of Fraser retail development. Mark became an associate in 1996 and is now an equity director. Mark completed his architectural studies at Cardiff University, qualifying in 1990. Project management and contract administration have become Mark's forte, with experience ranging from commercial and industrial projects to education and residential. He has led multidisciplinary teams on a variety of large projects including Claybury Hospital masterplan, the House of Fraser redevelopment and multi-million pound office to residential conversion projects. Mark is a keen cyclist taking part in the London to Brighton ride and also enjoys cycling in France and the South Downs.

Mollie Lord

Mollie joined us in summer 2021 as a part 1 student after completing her architectural degree at the University of Portsmouth. In September 2022, she returned to the University of Portsmouth as an apprentice, and is currently completing her Masters in Architecture and Part 3 qualification through this hybrid learning approach. Mollie has recently become a certified Passivhaus designer and is interested in regenerative architecture and POE (post occupancy evaluation). Outside of work, Mollie enjoys travelling and playing football.

Oliver Pullan ARB

Oliver joined our practice in 2018 as a part II student. He completed his first degree at Plymouth, moving on to Kingston for his part II and part III. Since joining us, Oliver has developed strong technical and working drawing skills to complement his design experience. He has worked on a variety of new build and refurbishment projects, primarily in the residential sector. In his spare time, Oliver enjoys playing football and golf.

Paul Rawsthorn

Originally from South Africa, Paul qualified with his Masters of Architecture in 2008 from the University of Natal. After moving to the UK in 2012, whilst gaining valuable experience at our practice, he completed his Part III at the University of Portsmouth. Paul, who has recently been certified as a Passivhaus designer, is the sustainability champion for our practice, promoting and raising awareness on emerging sustainable technology. Paul is accomplished in delivering projects from feasibility stage through to planning, tender and construction. He promotes bending the boundaries of design in architecture while also encouraging a strong attention to detail. Paul has worked on projects ranging from multi-storey apartment buildings and high-end private residential properties to large scale healthcare, civic and educational developments. Away from work, Paul enjoys swimming and running to keep fit and competes in half and full marathons.

Richard Wilkinson

Richard joined Lytle Associates in 2003 as a senior technician after experience working in a design practice specialising in commercial and recreational developments. Richard studied at De Montfort University where he was awarded an HND in Building Studies and a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying. Richard is experienced in the commercial requirements and regulations needed in the production of design information packages and is well versed in coordinating the various construction practices. The types of projects Richard has worked on vary from large design & build projects for large house builders, schools and healthcare groups, to private residential developments and major university works. Over the past six years, Richard has continually developed his passion as a technician to the extent that he has produced and implemented the company's drawing standards and production of design information. He also oversees the company's continuing development of IT and technology to assist in the smooth running of the practice. Richard became an associate in 2006 and is now an equity director.

Sara Waterfield

Sara joined Lytle Associates in 1994 and is now a director, specialising in the education sector. Sara studied at the University of Sheffield, achieving a distinction for her Diploma thesis on college design which led on to a career designing education buildings from kindergartens and pre-schools through to sixth form and university projects. Sara's forte and passion is for educational school masterplanning - bringing together all her practical experience of school design, knowledge of the myriad of guidance and standards with a rapport with each school, its staff and its pupils to develop a bespoke school masterplan which is both inspiring and achievable. She enjoys the challenges of working with schools to help them realise their long term vision - helping to craft grant applications and considering the minutiae of phasing necessary to develop buildings in a working school campus. Her interest in education extends to mentoring many of the architectural students within the practice, giving careers talks at local schools and her work as a governor at a large Guildford primary school. Sara is a regular theatre goer and is passionate about her annual trips to the Isles of Scilly.

Trevor Watts

Trevor joined Lytle Associates Architects in 1999 as an Architectural Technician and gained HNC & HND in Building Studies at Guildford College of Technology. Following successful TCIAT qualification, Trevor advanced his role to a Senior Architectural Technician. Trevor also became an Associate Director within the practice in 2015. 2019 saw Trevor attained his MCIAT Chartership. As well as a sound experience of contemporary construction detailing Trevor's focus of works and experience lies within the Historical and Conservation sector, of which a number of his projects on Listed Buildings have been nominated and achieved local awards. New social housing for Local Authorities accompanied with large domestic extensions reinforces Trevor's experience. Trevor is a particularly keen darts player playing in various local leagues and having formally played for Berkshire Super League, loves going to ‘live' music events, and jointly organises the office social events.

Zoe Harrison

Zoe joined the team in 2011 as Gerry Lytle's PA and after a brief sabbatical in 2015 she returned later that year as Ian's PA and Accounts Manager. Zoe studied Psychology at The University of York. When not in the office Zoe enjoys yoga and travels extensively, she is on her 36 th country.
