joanna griffith

Joanna has been a part of Montage Dezign since 2005. Her experience with the firm ranges from design development and construction documents, to model making and preparation of presentation documents. She infuses her passion for design into each of her projects, producing results that are sustainable, timeless, and beautiful. After earning her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Minnesota, she followed her passion for culturally-inspired and sustainable design to the University of Hawaii, receiving her Doctorate of Architecture. She co-authored the first guide for locally available environmentally-preferable building products in Honolulu and then earned her LEED AP BD+C credential. In addition to working with Montage Dezign, she is currently with KYA Design Group in Honolulu. Joanna continues to serve her community through her role as Chairperson for the Emerging Professionals Committee with the Hawaii Chapter of the USGBC. Additionally, she serves as a member on the national AIA Center for Civic Leadership committee where she promotes the value of community advocacy by helping to develop leadership within the profession.

mumtaz anwar

Mumtaz's diverse professional and academic expertise enables him to conceptualize any project holistically in order to create a natural flow of interior and exterior spaces. Known for his minimalist, aesthetically pleasing designs, Mumtaz gives attention to plays of light and shadow and free-flowing spaces. His architecture and interior design projects range from single housing units to hospitality and commercial projects and custom historic lofts. A passion for furniture led Mumtaz to design and build several contemporary pieces, using sustainable materials. His furniture has been exhibited at home and garden shows, the AIA convention in Minneapolis, and twice at Minneapolis/St. Paul home tours. He is currently in the process of developing a line of furniture. Many of Mumtaz's projects have been published in various magazines and shown on HGTV.
