Ana is the newest member of the Northwest team and with her family has called many places home - first Colombia, then off to Florida for her teenage years, and next to Ontario. In her mid-20's she ventured out on her own to BC. Ana is passionate about walking with people of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds and enjoys seeing God's work of faithfulness through their lives. She is fluent in Spanish and English, is technologically savvy, and has an affinity for finances. Ana loves spending time with friends, going on long drives with good music, and watching medical shows.

Andrés is passionate about leadership development in Latin America, empowering new leaders and creating opportunities of connecting people to God's Mission. He is a very curious person, and likes to always be busy doing something - creating, developing and just trying new things. Andrés loves to play with his kids, be with his wife at home, and just enjoy a good conversation and good coffee with friends.
Andy is our in-house creative with a passion for storytelling. He can operate everything from a pencil to a broadcast television studio with skill and expertise. Design and illustration, camera operation and program production, are all in his wheelhouse. His 35 years of running his own company in the UK, along with working for blue chip companies and terrestrial independent TV stations, give him great experience in the field. Andy came to Canada in 2012 following a call to serve God in a new church plant. If you add the trumpet he enjoys playing, the new foods he enjoys eating, and his lovely British accent, you have one wonderful chap. His wife, kids, and grandkids would agree.
Carol is excited to join our team as our Operations Coordinator. She brings her love of organization, writing, and training to our team. She appreciates the beauty of words and editing to find just the right one. When not in the office, Carol enjoys being in the outdoors, kayaking and exploring local trails. Playing cards and board games also ranks high on her list of enjoyable things to do.

Barton brings his love of leadership, team building, and vision-casting to the Northwest team. His years of church ministry have instilled in him a deep passion to see the people of God fully equipped for service. His vision for Northwest is based in Matthew 9:38, that the Lord of the Harvest will rise up labourers through Northwest. He is passionate about preaching, apologetics, adoption, and his four wonderful children.

Brian is our creative academic. His ideas come alive in his sketching, painting, and photography, and his humor comes out in his cartoons. Brian is a passionate teacher of the New Testament with a particular interest in the social, political and religious background of the New Testament. A conversation with Brain is always thoughtful and intentional, a quality his wife and adult daughters greatly appreciate.

Don's years of pastoral ministry come through in his shepherd's heart: he brings thoughtfulness, compassion, and grace to work with him everyday. Don enjoys filling his office with antique collectibles, and sitting around his table over food, good conversation, and laughter. When he's not teaching (which he does a lot of), he enjoys time with his wife and children.

Howard brings his keen mind in the areas of leadership, business, and education to our team. When not handling these topics he will gladly teach you a lesson in Greek or Hebrew. He will do all this casually leaning back in his chair, his right foot resting on his left knee because Howard is chill. He is also a great family man.

Joel's great passions in life include studying and researching biblical texts within their ancient contexts, spending time with his family, growing vegetables in his backyard/greenhouse, and playing tabletop board games with his wife. You will often find him pondering the functions of levitical sacrifices or out in the wilderness trying to catch a moose (and sometimes both at the same time!) His goal is always to be as precise as possible when engaging scripture, and you will frequently hear him ask, "But how do you know that?" when discussing anything to do with a biblical text.
Jonathan is our thoughtful intellect: he will think before answering and always give a wise and reasoned response. He is incredibly happy when placing his thoughts to paper, and grateful when those thoughts are published. When he asks you how you're doing, he genuinely wants to know. His years working in Korea have enabled him to read and write Korean. His years as a father have taught him to have answers on the ready.

Ryan completed his Ph.D. in Old Testament biblical studies and wrote on the endlessly fascinating (and highly encouraging) book of Ecclesiastes. He has a love for helping others see the Old Testament as God's living Word for the church today. Ryan is married to his wife, Sarah, and they have three wonderful kids. Ryan loves to spend his free time going for a run, hiking in the mountains, watching his kids do track and field, or playing games with his family.

Loren is our chief coder. Whether designing databases, learning management systems, or websites, he can speak a language not typically understood in the world of theology. Loren can also speak Bahasa Indonesia having grown up and then spent many years teaching and raising a family in Indonesia. Loren keeps all the details of our students, alumni, and mentors accurate, safe, and secure. He thoroughly enjoys his children and grandchildren, especially if they are sitting around a campfire at a provincial campground.

Ruth brings a 30-year marketplace career in competency-based learning and program design to Northwest, along with deep expertise in systems design and team leadership. She cares about you as a person before anything else and takes time to learn about your life. She loves her role as mom to the three children she raised as a single mom, and is passionate about the contextual practice of theology, particularly equipping women to confidently occupy their space in the world. If her creative abilities don't impress you, perhaps her powerhouse blues/soul voice will!
