Carmel joined the firm in 2021 having worked for many years in a medium sized practice in Co. Cork. She is an experienced legal admininstrator with extensive knowledge of practically every area of law, but mostly works on probate and property/conveyancing matters.

Mícheál O Dowd graduated from UCC with a BCL in 2004 and LLM in 2006 and established the firm of O'Dowd Solicitors soon after qualifying as a Solicitor in 2009.
Before becoming a solicitor Mícheál worked in the area of IT Law for University College Cork and as a consultant on Data Privacy for the Irish Counsel for Civil Liberties.
Mícheál has a first class honours masters degree in Data Protection Law, and has regularly lectured Data Protection and Cybercrime in University College Cork to undergraduate and postgraduate students. During the implementation phase of the GDPR he worked extensively with a number of large public bodies in ensuring compliance with the Regulation, and continues to advise in this area.
As well as working on Privacy and Data Protection matters, Mícheál specialises in complex conveyancing matters and in advising Residential and Commercial property developers. He is also a Registered Trademark Agent. When is not in the office Micheal will be found working on his farm in East Cork.

The firm of O'Dowd Solicitors LLP was originally established in October 2009 by Micheal O'Dowd to provide top quality legal services to the people of Glanmire and further afield. Despite being established during a particularly bad economic period, the firm had grown year on year and is now a busy small/medium firm with keen attention to detail and an excellent track record. in 2023 we are opening a second office in Fermoy to service better the needs of our clients in North Cork
