After many successful years working as a manager of large-scale 'agri-business' agricultural production in the United Kingdom, Jon was able to take his skills first to eastern Europe at the fall of the socialist economies. From the Czech and Slovak Republics to Hungary and then on to Belarus and Central Russia. On the way he was twice team leader of European Union funded technical assistance programmes.
